The legacy media, celebrities, talk show hosts, etc. have less impact than ever before. People tune them out.
A Republican can still win the popular vote. Hi Warden.
The economy still matters a lot.
You can’t gaslight the public and sell them a candidate they don’t like. Kamala was a terrible candidate.
Even with the negatives on Trump, people are able to see past his personality.
Trump built a pretty wide coalition of types of people. Historic turnout for a Republican amongst many groups and demographics.
I think he will try to bring the country together and bring the economy back. If he doesn’t with the Senate and probably the House, then that’s on him and America will probably ping pong the other way.
Good points, Indiana. I actually agree with pretty much every one.
The old-school media has less sway, which was obvious after 2016. I wish I heard more about Trump’s efforts to win the popular vote a couple months ago.
Once again Trump is handed a strong economy. I hope he can keep it going.
Harris was probably a little too progressive of a candidate. I actually think Biden would have performed better. He’s a popular union guy up in that blue wall territory.
Trump’s coalition was impressive. Again, like 2016, I think his path was made easier by his opponent.
Some of Trump’s past policies worked and some not so much. He wasn’t the devil, although there are concerns with a new administration (and control of the House and Senate). The main thing I think Trump was weak on was foreign policy, and that’s my main concern at the moment, but we’ll see.
I DO really hope Trump thinks about the fact that he was nearly assassinated, that he ponders his legacy, and he does his best to be a stand-up president instead of being petty. If Trump makes an effort to unify the country, it would do a lot to heal. Winning the popular vote helps stop Dems complaining about the system, winning the election helps stop Pubs complaining about fraud. Hopefully now we can move on, right? Right?
305, guys almost 80 years old. He is not changing no matter how much we would like him to. Trump does not know how to stfu. Even skeeters dumb ass knows this and agrees. He is going to run an authoritarian government.
I think Trump will think a lot about his legacy and setting up the Trump family for future political careers. He’ll want a dynasty. Hopefully he realizes in order to do that he needs to win over more on the other side and keep them.
The truth is the Dems can’t unify the country by themselves. That type of effort needs buy-in from both sides. Trump is probably the worst person for the job, I admit, but it would be nice if recent events and winning the popular vote and all that take away some of his vitriol.
