Yes, Putin somehow got Trump to back off the secondary sanctions, at least for now.
That said, I don’t buy most of the reporting around this meeting. Trump didn’t “honor” Putin - he held a diplomatic meeting with him. And as for the red carpet, Trump flew a B2 Bomber overhead as a show of force.
Also, luckily, Trump seems to be mostly aligned with Europe. You can tell by how little Republicans are complaining about support Ukraine these days.
Ah, that makes sense why he stopped the meeting with European allies to call Putin and withdrew any ceasefire requirements in his demands to Putin. Maybe it was just the red carpet for Putin and nothing for Zelensky that threw me off. At least we flew a 35 yr old plane overhead to show we’re tough.
