The dearth of oil in the West caused the prices of all products to inflate since you cannot move product without energy. Not granting oil leases, prohibiting production in Anwar, opposition to fracking, and not granting oil leases on federal land exacerbated the problem. When oil prices hit 5 dollars a gallon, Biden tapped into the Strategic Reserves which now stand at a forty year low. Additionally, the U.S. allegedly was involved in the destruction of the Nord Stream pipelines in the Baltic Sea, one of the largest engineering projects in the world. This was done to keep the Germans from bailing out on the Ukraine War. All in all, it created the circumstances that provoked the Ukraine War was probably the dumbest foreign policy strategy of the century and would not have happened had Trump not been swindled out of reelection.
