No, Hamilton didn’t do it. Hamilton allegedly tried to get Pickney elected over Adams, but instead got Jefferson elected as VP. All of this was before the 12th Amendment changing the election procedure so that instead of casting two votes of the same type, electors would make an explicit choice for President and VP. Hamilton didn’t try to obstruct the certification by Congress of the elector’s votes. Hamilton tried to get 18 electors (19 if you count Samuel Miles) to withhold their votes for Pickney but pledge for Adams. In doing so, they made Adam’s challenger the VP. This is by no means trying to disregard the votes of the people, post 12th Amendment, and just decide as VP who you want as President.
The compromise of 1877 -On election day, Democrats appears to have won, with Tilden having 184 of the 185 electoral votes and leading the popular vote. The Republicans refused to accept stating that Democratic supporters were intimidating, bribing, and preventing blacks from voting in Florida, Louisiana and South Carolina. South Carolina as drenched in bloodshed from both sides, with gubernatorial candidate Wade Hampton, a former Confederate general, using heavy violence to confront black people voting. With both sides accusing each other of fraud and violence, SC, FL, and LA submitted two sets of election returns with different results. Also, in Oregon, the state’s Democratic governor replaced a Republican elector with a Democrat alleging he was ineligible.
To resolve, Congress stepped in and Grant setup an electoral commission in Jan of 1877 with 5 representatives, 5 Senators, and 5 Supreme Court justices:7 and 7 with 1 independent. Republicans claimed argued the VP had the right to decide and Democrats argued it had to go to the Supreme Court. In order to stop filibusters in the House, the deal was struck that Hays would withdraw federal troops from the south, consolidating Democratic control in the region and effectively ending Reconstruction, along with a myriad of other things that he failed to do, like support federal aid for a Texas railroad, appoint a southerner to his cabinet, etc. On March 2, the congressional commission voted 8-7 along party lines to award all the disputed electoral votes to Hayes, giving him 185 votes to Tilden’s 184. Againm, Democrats would accept Republican victory and Hays as Presient by NOT EMPLOYING THE FILIBUSTER during he joint session of Congress needed to confirm the election.

Yes I would be against me wearing a mask…But yes I would quietly have to live with businesses, etc requiring me to do so then make my decision whether I want to boycott or give business. Yes I would have a problem if I was forced to wear a mask in some other aspects of my life…I have not complained about this in a while, though (as usual you just blabber out any old thing to further an argument) as I have not been forced to in a while… Any mention I’ve made recently was about kids’ being forced to wear masks.
