Yeah. You’re right. I caught the Foo Fighters playing in Mauriopol the other night. Hell of a show.
What are you taking about? Sure - there isn’t fighting in central/west Ukraine, because Russia’s army sucks and the Ukrainians were able to repel them. East and south? Not so much
Okay, I’ll throw GSC a bone. Instead of teasing him for his ignorance, I’ll make this an instructive moment.
The National Gallery in London hosted 2,000 concerts during WWII. They continued, unabated, even during the Blitz. It was a glass-domed building.
Throughout the autumn and winter of 1940–41, the bombing continued for 76 nights, with only one day’s interruption. During the entire air campaign, some 30,000 civilians died in London,
…
And yet, despite it all, the recitals continued—for the next six years, with not one week skipped
Indeed, the Gallery was hit by nine bombs in all—once during a performance of Beethoven given by the Stratton Quartet; nobody was hurt, and the musicians continued.
To be fair, they did change their mind about the glass dome at that point.
IN CASE OF AIR RAID WARNING THE AUDIENCE WILL PROCEED DOWNSTAIRS WHERE ADEQUATE PROTECTION IS AVAILABLE
So it’s safe to say that populations continue going to concerts during wars. Unless, of course, WWII doesn’t meet your weird definition of a war. I can’t take anything for granted with you.
Now, shall we stroll out pictures of people soaking up rays on the beaches of Vietnam during the war as well, or do you think you can handle googling that yourself?
I don’t endlessly defend him, and defending his statement and you misquoting him and your ridiculous obsessions with him isn’t the same as “yeaaahhh man high five you should be arrested for a felony 305 yeaaahhhh!!! Way to go!!! you showed him!!! handed him his ass”
Yea- it’s not an apples to apples comparison and you know it.
Firstly - England was not experiencing a land war with an infiltration of armor, infinity men, etc…. Yes- there were bombings (blitzkriegs) but England had done a phenomenal job holding them off for a long time. They were very good at shooting down and repelling German bombers. And it was definitely part of their strategy to keep morale high. I agree with that.
It’s much different when an army 5-10x your size, who is right next door, descends upon you. It’s just apples and oranges.
Please show me a classical land war (can include air but need to have land units) where this kind of shit happened. Then maybe I’ll admit made a dumb comment.
Again, if I’m dickriding after one comment regarding 305’s post, what are you doing with GSC By defending him in 2 different threads over the past 2’days?
Pretty sure I don’t want to know, and neither does he.
Maybe it was something you were forced to do on the inside.
