At this writing, I sit before a computer as a prisoner of Santa Rosa Island traffic where found is my home on Pensacola Beach. My only remedy for leaving the island and being able to return is my electric bicycle on which it is said I look like a silverback gorilla astride the small 20 inch bike. Thanks to Gov. DeSantis, it is legal to ride one’s bike on the beach sidewalks, and there is considerable traffic on the sidewalks that you must be a very careful bike rider. Be it known that this gorilla is exceptionally careful. I love my bike that cruises effortlessly up and over the steep Bob Sikes bridge connecting to our island. I highly recomend ebikes.
Reading various articles today, I point you to the splend piece on the Star Spangled Banner appearing in the Gateway Pundit:
Another essay which I read was that of James Howard Kunstler whose prose I find somewhat grandiloquent yet still enjoyable.
Same to you, GSC. Being a gorilla, it’s quite natural that I am cooking some tostones for the 4th to be eaten with Haagen Dazs, which I regard as the best vanilla ice cream, and I have eaten ice cream in places all over the world.
After my treat, I will smoke a Padron 1926 cigar, another great product.BTW, I grew up with one of the Padron brothers who sends me a box of cigars every Christmas. I know you are of Cuban ascendancy. When I was young, I spent many summers at my grandfather’s farm on the Isla de los pinos, renamed by Castro the Isla de la juventud. Got to love Cuba if not just for the music and merengue dancing. Humans were meant for dancing. Cubans know this better than most. While I am not a very good dancer, I still participate vigorously, knowing that since I am on the inside of this body looking outward, I don’t have to see myself dancing.
Take care GSC, my chatroom friend of nearly two decades
