Trump exerted pressure on OPEC and other oil producers to maintain fair prices. He also made strategic decisions in order to prepare for non- compliance.

Keystone XL will not bring any more oil into the United States. I’m not sure why this is so difficult to get. Existing Canada pipelines already go to the Midwest, where the only buyer for their crude oil is. There are different types of crude oil. Keystone XL would divert Canadian oil from refineries in the Midwest to the Gulf Coast where it is refined and then exported, most of which are in free trade zones where they don’t even pay taxes on exported oil. Valero, one of the largest potential buyers already said they’re shipping it out. From Canada’s perspective, the problem with existing pipelines is it goes to the midwest where there is only 1 buyer, the United States.
As Canada’s Natural Resources Minister Joe Oliver recently said, “we export 97 percent of our energy to the U.S. and we would like to diversify that.”
Keystone XL is Canada’s first step in trying to diversify their markets. It ALSO goes through 2 of the biggest aquifers in the United States where several states get their drinking water. In addition, they have a history of their pipelines leaking. What you’re saying is you want to put several state’s drinking water in jeopardy to help Canada diversify their oil market while benefiting the United States almost minimally.
Also, Biden didn’t ban fracking. He put down a 60 day suspension of NEW oil and gas leases on federal land and water areas.

Wait until the price of A/C becomes unaffordable for some middle class families this summer. Biden’s Secretary of Transportation says if you are unhappy with gasoline prices, buy an electric vehicle. They’re only about $55,000.
