Just thought it might interest this board. It didn’t seem like the law had a chance.
The Mississippi 15 week ban is the one I’m really interested in because the Supreme Court is taking that up and it has Roe v Wade type implications.
Yes, that sounds like a much bigger deal right now.
I read it was “paused” so I’m assuming that means a judge imposed a stay on the matter and it’s still working it’s way through. Is that not right?

Pitman’s order blocks any officer of the state – including state court judges and court clerks – from enforcing the ban. He explicitly prohibits those officers from “accepting or docketing, maintaining, hearing, resolving, awarding damages in, enforcing judgments in, enforcing any administrative penalties in, and administering any lawsuit” brought under the state law. The judge also ordered the state to take proactive steps to inform court officials, as well as private individuals seeking to enforce the ban, that the law is currently blocked under his order.
As far as the case being definitively over, I am sure it will be appealed, perhaps eventually ending up in the Supreme Court.
That was fast! So no it is in effect until Tuesday when the justice Dept comments on the matter? It’s like we’re watching a tennis match here.
6 weeks is ridiculous imo
I think 15 weeks makes sense. I find late term horrifying…But I’m not a woman and it’s something I easily cave in on in conversation.
