I don’t believe that abortion rights were ever treated in the Constitution. I think Roe v Wade should be thrown out, and I would support the changes as proposed in the leaked document. By that same contention, I believe affirmative action and Disparate Impact should also bite the dust. Removing these three issues would restore the originality of the Constitution.
Once identified, the leaker will likely be disbarred, yet will have achieved fame, certainly in liberal circles, meaning a nice job at MSNBC or CNN. However, I don’t see much difference in releasing the decision now or waiting until June. Both dates are prior to the mid-term elections.
Abortion laws should be part of state statutes. My own sentiment is that abortions should be permitted during the first term of the pregnancy and always during instances of rape. Later abortions should be possible under extreme circumstances. Were I a doctor, I’d have severe qualmishness performing the procedure. In the end, the rights of women should prevail; women should not have lesser rights than men.
