Downsizing - worked really well in texas. Probably lost 200 peoples lives because the national weather was downsized. This administration will go down as the worst in the history of this country.

I think this was on TX. It’s a terribly run state, has been for decades. They didn’t install sirens bc of the cost and opted for a text thing in a rural community, and this happened in the middle of the night. The infrastructure is terrible. Potholes the size of a tire all over the place. Construction shit everywhere, and its a grift. To do a mile in Coppell, it took almost 3 years. I75 started in the 60s, never fully completed. Then, it was rebuilt from 1992-1999. Our power grid is astoundingly bad. But, everything here is a grift. You can see it in the construction…not sure who’s getting paid, but these tiny projects last for years. You’ll see the construction site abandoned for months at a time.
I was honestly unaware other states actually pick shit up off of the highways until I saw it in NC. Here, you can see a dead racoon in the same spot for 2 weeks. Trash is everywhere on the roads.
Also, the state is ugly as hell. Construction is everywhere and never stops. I know that means growth, but I’ve lived here since 1985. Not a single year of my life in Texas have I not lived by construction and I’ve lived almost everywhere possible in the metroplex of DFW. You can’t escape it. Nothing is ever finished, construction shit everywhere, yet all of our buildings are from the 80s or before. Daily I hear people talking about how they want out. There are 9 million people in DFW and I think that’s a low estimate. Traffic is worse than LA.
Consistently, the administration wants to bring in business but with zero regard for the citizens.
Warden, they took funds away from the National Weather Orginization. It was run by the government. They basically have told everyone that works for them to stay home. This Flood could have been avoided. These issues could be avoided if they just let people do their jobs.
Yeah man, I get that. I agree with that, however, the NWO issued their warnings on the flood on time and the proper channels in Kerr County. The issue was once it was issued to Kerr County, they had no way of notifying people beyond that. Texas opted for a text notification system in that area bc of costs, which doesn’t work in the middle of the night when nobody it watching their phones.
This flood couldn’t have been avoided in the context of how Abbott and the GOP set up the system there.
I agree with your issue on the cuts, but they didn’t play a role in this from a national perspective. The national guys did their jobs on this one. They issued both warnings at the proper times. If there are no sirens, how does anyone know? Trump does a lot, but he didn’t do this one.

The problem is these idiots just dont get that government and private businesses are not the same. Certain things are not for profit. You spend money sometimes with the understanding that it is not for profit. So saving money on sirens by not having them is stupid. Whatever you saved by not having them now is going to be much more i lawsuits. I just don’t understand that in this country why we continue to cut corners. There should systems in place to handle flooding. We dont want to do it because of cost.
The next catastrophic event is going to be the moment a cat 5 hits miami beach. It will happen and it will make katrina look like child play.
You can also blame Kerr County. What Abbott and the House did to Kerr county wasn’t in a vacuum. Kerr County was given $10 million by the Biden Admin for this exact type of investment. They openly argued amongst each other in county meetings whether they should take it bc Biden was a communist and evil. Then, they decided to take it to keep it from a blue county in NY or NJ. Then, they spent it all on raises for the sheriff’s dept, new cars for the sheriff’s dept, new admin staff, shit like that. They didn’t spend a dime on actually helping the county in any way, just a downward grift like the rest of Texas.
