We have talked about how the USA has been the driving force at ending Slavery.
Are we hypocrites buying shit from China and other countries knowing full and well the humans producing the goods are modern day slaves. Even if the factory workers aren’t, the full supply chain isn’t free of slavery.
Are we all hypocrites? Is it even possible to be slavery free? Just some thoughts I’ve had after watching the JRE end of the world 2.0 podcast. It was a pretty good podcast.
I’d say we are.
I’m not arguing a side - I do find it odd that we have no problem dealing with China - a communist nation with a horrible human rights record, but we won’t touch Cuba - also a communist nation with a horrible human rights record.
You elected a guy that is controlled by them. Lol. 
To answer you 90… to be human is to be a hypocrite.
Our material desires usually compel us to contradict or moral values and duties.
But to be fair- slavery has always been with humanity and always will be with humanity. It’s just the way we are built. There will always be a dark corner of the world that has and uses slaves. And there will always be a market that leverages that labor advantage.
This is why I say America is the greatest nation on this very topic. We’re the only nation to codify that men are equal. Give them rights. And then see it through.
That’s why anti-Americanists are insane.
