Mario’s buyout is about $50M.

Yeah, I’m not happy about the hire. I’m guessing we feel as if we can compete now and it’s NOT rebuild (but it really is) and we needed a veteran voice as opposed to a young up an coming guy…I would have liked Chris Shula BUT he could come on our staff and then who knows…
McCarthy did well in GB, not the greatest in Dallas but he is a Pittsburgh guy so…
Fans are always held hostage by owners. So much for stability. The Steelers are basically the Dolphins with two more wins a year. Owner is too blind to realize they’re not a contender at all. Hell, everyone sees it. How can he NOT?
At least the Dolphins are changing everything this time. Probably won’t get it right but it is necessary. Is securing McCarthy to land Rodgers another year really the play here? Total short sighted move. Baltimore got Minter. That’ll be a far better hire long term. But don’t worry, 9-8 is right around the corner in Pittsburgh.

Tomlin’s voice died off about 2 years ago. Great guy but not an elite coach that Stephen A makes him out to be…yeah he never had a losing season, great, but he didn’t win a playoff game in years! Once Lebeau left the team started to decline, Teryl Austin was a joke as a DC.
Then, when Big Ben left (albeit a year too late), we haven’t had any stability at QB.
Mike T is a players coach, yes, but he’s not a developer of talent. As a lifelong Steelers fan I do wish him well.
The Dolphins can just die already ! I’d take Brian Flores any day of the week over Mike McDaniels who was just basically fools-gold. So Flores hurt Tua’s feelings …so what ?! He’d built a stout D ..one ..if you remember …that would go toe-to-toe with the Bills. He’d just accumulated a boat-load of draft-picks to get the team just where he wanted and to cap it off …finished off the season with a damned good run of winning. Then Ross fired him ..for McDaniels who came in. Blew up the team .
Traded away everything just to get Tyreek Hill ……and now what ? McDaniels’ firing left the team worse than when he acquired it . As for Tua ? Hell…Tua is one bad hit away from standing by the side of the road in his bathrobe ..shouting at traffic.
