“Where the F is Dallas or whoever is supposedly moderating this board?
It’s a fair question.
I completely supported Dallas’ effort to salvage the community when the old board was clearly dying… I was, still am, and will always be very grateful to him for this. I guess people’s lives get busy, and priorities change so I can’t be mad at him for it–I don’t know what’s going on in his life.
What me might begin asking is whether he might be willing to pass the board off to someone who would have the inclination to take over? Warden, you are friends with Dallas… any sense of this?
The board is in dire need of some form of moderation. Right now there does not appear to be any. I’d hate to see it go the way of the old board–it would be a real shame to see this happen again.
You are being obtuse again. There are NO laws in the US that gibe you freedom of speech on a privately held forum. You were invited to this forum.
Freedom of speech protections, particularly those enshrined in laws like the First Amendment in the United States, primarily protect individuals from government censorship or legal repercussions for their speech. The First Amendment restricts government actions but does not directly apply to private entities, including private message forums, social media platforms, and other types of private communication services.
Private message forums and platforms are owned and operated by private companies or individuals, and they have the right to set their own rules and guidelines regarding what type of speech or behavior is acceptable on their platforms. This means they can moderate content, including deleting posts, banning users, and setting specific guidelines that may restrict certain types of speech that would otherwise be protected under the First Amendment in a public context.
While freedom of speech protections primarily guard against government censorship, the application of these principles in private message forums is governed by the policies of those platforms rather than constitutional law. Users of private platforms are subject to the terms of service agreed upon when they sign up, which can include moderation policies that restrict certain types of speech.
What you are suggesting would be like me like me saying I can go into your house, and start saying whatever I wanted even if you did not like it. You set the rules of who can way what in your own house, right? Well, in a message forum, the owner sets the rules. So you are NOT, repeat NOT protected by Freedom of Speech laws here.
I guess upholding a modicum of following rules makes me a communist. I guess what you do makes you an anarchist and a fascist. RIght?
Don’t be obtuse. Don’t be a whiny baby. Learn the law; Don’t be a snowflake. Be a man.
Have you ever seen signs in establishments, “we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone”? Business set rules for their patrons and guests ALL THE TIME. Rules of behavior relate to speech, dress, actions etc.
Interesting that the Supreme Court ruled that a bakery in Colorado could choose not to make a wedding cake for a gay couple.
So that shoots your ‘argument’ to pieces.
Do us all a favor and stay in your lane. You have NO idea what you are talking about here.
