Spring Portal Targets

RB…I’d say 50/50 we bring 1 in…Some interesting names, but UM isn’t going to pay much here, looking for more of a backup type
WR…At least 1, chance for 2
DT… 80% chance for 1 I’d say…Outside chance of two.
LB…I’d say there’s about a 70% chance we bring one in. I’m actually shocked that all of Washington, Alderman, and Smith are all still here.
S… At least 1, with I’d say at least a 50% and maybe better chance of 2. Biggest Need
K…Buehler, Buehler??? Definitely need one, co-biggest need, maybe the FAU transfer has improved and they like what they saw this spring?

QB…Doubtful. No one being mentioned
TE… Small chance, especially if we have to use Loften as a RB, but no one being mentioned, and this looks like it’s fading.
DE…Doubtful, my guess would be only if a stud, we have enough young prospects here.
OL…If the right young talented type would enter then I could see it, but as of now nothing going on
CB…I think there’s a small chance we add one here, especially if more of a nickle type.

LB Bonner to UM
K Auburn to UM
WR/KR Marion to UM

Added some names here

DT looking bleak

I’d guess we are done at LB, but Toure could factor in.

WR is probably 50/50 we take one more

Haulcy is the top overall target imo. The best result at DB for me would be K.Scott as a nickle/safety and Haulcy at safety.

WR T.Johnson to UM

RB Chamar Brown to UM

Why in the world can we not recruit any DT guys? Crazy!

If you want to get on us for not back channeling ok…But what’s available isn’t very good. We are satisfied with our top 3 and now have to see if others can step up for depth.

S Jakobe Thomas to UM

We seem to have issues with recruiting and keeping guys at this position. We are excellent at DE but mediocre at DL

DB K.Scott to UM

Most likely a nickle with a chance at safety. Seems we passed on Gregory Smith and he is the only other kid from with UM interest that isn’t committed.

Only kid we seem to be waiting on is LB Tourre…Kinda shocked none of our LB transferred out.

The ones that got away this spring (Definite top targets who committed elsewhere were)

Definites:
WR: Pena
S: AJ Haulcy

And possibly

S: W.Williams (Cancelled visit to UM when committed to Ole Miss)
DB: C Hood (Visited UM, not sure if he was a definite take or what, I like his game)
DTs: B.Gooden and D.Rob…. More so Gooden, I think Robinson was just a rumor or light interest. Neither visited.

The others (and possibly Hood and the DTs) all seemed to be backup plans.

Miami has completely rebuilt its defensive backfield via the transfer portal;
a masterful job of recruiting.

Now, they just have to play better than their predecessors.

LB Toure to UM

Very nice pickup if checks out health wise. Definitely most proven player of the Spring portal additions. 2nd ACL in 3 years and missed '24 though.

Had a big year for Hetherman at Rutgers in '23 and came in to '24 as a pre season all B10 selection but then the injury

In the player rankings I have a SLIGHT downgraded baked in for health but if that isn’t a thing he clearly can be one of the top 7-8 players on this team.

Toure has ACL surgery last year because he toure up his knee so he may, or may not, be a factor. Much like Beck. if healthy, a big addition but that’s a big if.

Ya like I said…It’s his 2nd ACL surgery, and 7th year of CFB.

I’m sure UM did its medical checks on both. CMC recently quoted saying Beck is good to go.
