Spotify Debacle

No, not at all. I’m not disagreeing with you. I enjoy Joe Rohan and a lot of the guests he has on. I don’t agree with all his or his guests views, but overall it’s a good show.

And Nelson’s music is too old for me anyway.

Yes, and they complied. He said you can have me or Rogan, not both. That was his choice.

I applaud Spotify. But they did t make the decision out of principle… they made a financial/business decision. If this were a lesser podcaster and not Rogan - they’d have buckled.

Agreed. They’re not taking a stand, they’re just following the money. It’s safe to say Rogan is more valuable to them than Young.

And by the way, I don’t really approve of Neil Young’s methods, but calling it censorship is dumb. If anything, it’s a PR stunt. Apple is pushing his music now and they pay artists like 3x better.

More valuable!!!

Do you have any idea the loss if they drop Rogan?

He would have made a home elsewhere. It would have buried them.

His deal with Spotify is very similar to Stern’s with Sirius/XM. He’s the lead and brings in a ton of subscribers.

Neil Young is shit. No one cares dude. The hit is very short term. They’ll recover. Where as if they made the opposite decision they’d have destroyed their business model.

Nils Lofgren steps up to the plate

Spotify is adding a content warning before any content discussing covid.

Excellent response

Yet, you support book banning by conservatives throughout

THIS is the hand of the free market. There is no government agency trying to censor anything, unlike Republicans trying to ban speech and books. This is literally the market having a debate. You just don’t like it, because you have authoritarian tendencies

What book burning do I support?

You’ve not said a single word against the country wide book bans by conservatives, which are the epitome of cancel culture, btw. When they’re posts on it, you defend them.

Btw, it’s cute how you change the words, salesman.

I didn’t mean to change the words. I actually thought I read burning.

Anyway- I’m not aware of any.

Are you referring to parents and school board books/curriculums? That’s the only thing I’ve seen.

Not covering it on Gateway Pundit? First, you’re not being honest. I’ve posted about it before and you’ve defended it.

And no, not just parents and school boards, but state legislatures…all Republican, of course.

So if your exclusively talking about parents and school books, I support parents selecting the books their children have access to.

After their kids become adults it’s no one’s business. Where’s the conflict?

The conflict is…they wouldn’t be able to brainwash children. And that’s what they are counting on.

I agree with this. Obviously parents want to teach a certain set of values to their kids.

The conflict is it is state legislatures banning the books.
Secondly, parents shouldn’t dictate what their children learn in schools. You conservatives, I believe, intentionally are trying to dismantle public education with your snowflake-dom.

You don’t believe the earth is round, or aren’t sure. Well, you don’t get to ruin everyone’s education because you choose willful ignorance, or shouldn’t. But, like most other things related to this country, you’re hell bent on destroying it in favor of a great big right wing church from pre-16th century.
