Could happen but, arguably shouldn’t. I get Lashlee to SMU because their boosters have quite deep pockets. And a desire to get back to the top of the mountain. But does Virginia Tech offer a prospective coach the same? If not, Dawson might be better advised to wait for another opportunity.
In any event, “Mario the CEO” should always have backup plans for a coordinator leaving. Unless such planning is akin to game clock management.
