Recycling Plastic is a Lie

For years, I’ve obediently separated my trash, putting recyclables in a different refuse container apart from other household trash. Now it grieves to find out that plastic is almost completely unrecyclable. To this end, I post a message from one my favorite humans John Stossel. I find this information wholly depressing.

Welcome to the result of big business playing a con game on the public, no different from Tobacco or Pharma pills. This news broke 10 or more years ago when China began refusing to take our garbage. Throughout the 90s and 00s we just shipped our plastic to them so they could burn and bury it. Then all of a sudden we had a problem.

This is exactly why people want to cut down on single-use plastics. Plastic is a cheap product for oil-producers to sell, but it pollutes, is non-biodegradable, gets microplastics everywhere including inside our brains, and most of it is non-recyclable.

Compare that to good old materials of the 1950s - paper and metal. These are easy and cost-effective to recycle. And paper waste isn’t really bad if it gets abandoned in the environment.

Anyway, bikki, glad to see you joining the liberals and giving a hoot about the environment.

In my mind, I have always been a liberal, a classical liberal, miles apart from leftist Marxist today. I voted for both Kennedy and Humphrey who today like RFK Jr. would likely, were they alive, have distanced themselves from today’s Democrat Party.

Bikki has always been consistent with this ^^

And of course, I lean left on just as many or more issues than I do right. We, like much of America, are just fed up with today’s progressive left. And Trump is a nice position against that delusion. Very simple stuff here.

Skeeter, you’ve been consistent as well, having the open mind of a classical liberal as opposed to the blind obedience to progressive orthodoxy of today’s meatheads. Logic rules your opinions. And, in the vernacular, you don’t suffer fools or take any shit.,

Funny…you used to say the same shit about Stormfront, right after he posted how Hitler was right :joy:

Look everyone, bikki is on California’s side for once.

I gave Stormfront credit which he deserved. He was naturally curious and a persevering researcher. His arguments were often truculent and abusively messaged. Arguing with him should have been perceived as futile more rapidly by others every bit as persistent as Stormfront. The worst arguments were those predicated by a faulty premise.

As a person, I like the guy. He had numerous friends and was very successful in his business. He seemed to me as a my word is my bond kind of guy.

I’ve thought often about Stormfront’s banishment. Inasmuch as this site is privately-owned, I think that posters’ comportment should be considerate of the owner’s advisements since our participation is on an at will basis. Maybe I’m more tolerant of adversarial behavior than either Shadow or 305 I don’t preclude myself of being wrong about Stormfront., and I do have high regard for 305’s intelligence and judgment.

As for Exxon being sued, I cannot be other than disappointed since Exxon is my largest and longest held issue in my stock portfolio, but I also disapprove of the ubiquity of plastic and the damage being done by it to the environment. When human autopsies reveal microplastics inside of internal organs, it just can’t be doing us a lot of good. Yes, incredibly,I am on the side of California on the rectitude of dealing with plastics.

Translation: you praised the Nazi because his views were more similar to your own than most

It seems to me my propensity for praising others is wider than yours, Warden. After all, I have even at times praised you.

BTW, Robinson’s should renounce his governorship campaign in North Carolina.
