Reclassification

This is the sort of thing I have no clue about. Back in the 80’s when I was in high school moving up a grade was quite difficult. Only the brightest were able to take enough classes to graduate early. It would be like “wow” that person is smart and going to college early. One kid I knew in college was 15 as a freshman.

However, now it seems reclassification a year ahead is not that difficult. And, forgive the assumption, it’s a lot of athletes. Who probably couldn’t academically get into top tier schools (nothing against UM). So, how is this happening? Have standards slipped? Does high school have the equivalent of underwater basket weaving? In the end I don’t really care. Just curious if anyone knows the “inside scoop” as it were. Trend seems to be accelerating.

Online courses…. Probably a little more to it like specifying the curriculum only to the exact courses needed. Not sure.
