Yesterday, I took first squeeze Lisa to see the Reagan The movie was great entertainment that emphasized the tender relationship between Ron and Nancy. Dennis Quaid is IMO one of the best actors never to win an Oscar. I loved the movie The Big Easy since I spend a lot of time in New Orleans.
Reagan was persecuted, not as badly as Trump, but he was nearly murdered. Reagan’s end was a sad one, but many leave this world ingloriously even grotesquely. Since I am rounding the far turn in life, I’ve given explicit directions to carry me to a Kevorkian if I develop hopeless dementia or wind up just bubbling sort to speak, non-ambulatory in a wheel chair. Being able to decide your ultimate fate is one of the highest forms of individual freedom.
Reagan was an exceptional governor in California when the state existed in a more heightened state of normalcy. He had the great Max Rafferty in charge of the state’s public schools which were improved under the Reagan administration. Rafferty then went on to make Troy State an outstanding university in rural Alabama.
Trump reminds me of Reagan, but in my mind, Trump is the greater of the two men, because he has created one of the great populist movements of our time.
Interestingly, the turd reviews on Rotten Tomatoes gave the movie a super low rating of 18. In contrast, the movie going public scored it a 98 which I think that it merited.
Wow, a Trump movie and a Reagan movie at the same time. Republicans must be going wild.
We got a Trump & a Reagan Movie before we got GTA 6! That’s crazy work!
We could spend a significant amount of time debating this, but the one thing Reagan did that was phenomenally done and a monumental achievement considering the time was to make America proud of itself.
That I agree with wholeheartedly. We actually took pride in being an American.
I failed to notice that I misspelled the title of this thread. I corrected it today. Seems to me I may need I nice stiff shot of Prevagen.
Don’t fall for that food supplement bullshit.
Also, Reagan and Trump have very little in common. They aren’t in the same stratosphere. Trump is more along the lines of William Henry Harrison, Hoover, Pierce, Andrew Johnson, and James Buchanan. There’s a reason Trump is at the bottom of every Presidential historian list
Where do you suppose Victor Davis Hanson would rank Trump? You’re using liberal historians as sources. Reagan was considered one of the worst presidents for a decade after his tenure. Then, it became impossible to obscure the truth. The same is true of Trump who will be ranked one of the best after a requisite period of time elapses.
Considering he’s a classical and military historian, doesn’t much matter. But, even in his own fields as of the last 15 years, he’s essentially been fully discredited and run out of the field. Now, he’s simply a right wing Twitter personality
Discredited by whom, Warden? Leftist history profs and economists who are consistently wrong in their assessments?. Hanson is top drawer, and a skilled, prolific writer. A similar leftist cabal failed in denigrating Reagan when portraying him as an ignorant movie cowboy. Looking back, his success as a president is unquestionable.
Your sentences are beautifully crafted, but it’s a shame they carry all the depth of a puddle.
