At this stage of the game…Mid-July. UM HS recruiting grades

QB B+
RB B
WR A-
TE B+
OL A+
DT B-
DE C+
LB B
CB A
Safety F (I do think there is a strong chance, that a safety moves…Portis is most likely among the current commits, I could see him at nickle or safety)

DL as a whole C… (I see Bacon as a DT)
DB as a whole B-

Coming into this 2025 (Class of 26 offseason), I would rank needs as follows (But realize it seems like it should be a different game at 105 schollies and the portal can patch holes)…And there are guys in the defensive backfield and OL who will be tried at different positions.

Very Strong Need: OL (Tackle being a bigger need at the moment) , DT, S, QB, K
Definite: RB, WR, CB, LB
Build but not huge need: DE
Can Be Picky: TE

Let’s hope we finish strong

  1. RB/ATH Cooper adios to Tejas. They seem to be doing a nice job.

Once again DT seems to still be lacking on our recruiting trail. What gives?

Once again DT seems to still be lacking on our recruiting trail. What gives?

Everyone we offered and appeared to believe we were in good standing for at DT/DE/S went to or are now going to Tex/LSU/Bama/Tamu/Clemson/GA

Just saw Miami picked up Cortez Redding, safety from Georgia.

As always, absolutely no clue if a kid is good or not. Just stars in my eyes.

Dopson officially flips to UNC

(The kid must not watch college football or hear the smoke regarding Belichick wanting out, and damn near everyone wanting him out)

Bag musta been huge…Hope we get him back as he was #2 on my list, but this recruitment just became very weird as a lot of re-classifications seem to.

Yeah, I’m still not understanding why the big bodies don’t want to come here. We always seem to hit the portal for them. Is it coaching? scheme?

Dopson is a corner?

What big bodies are you talking about?

Anthony Kennedy decommits, has been rumored for a while. Back to Mizzou.

We appear to be done for the moment

Going by the composite numbers…UM signed the 5th most “blue chip” (4 and 5* kids) in the nation behind ND, GA, USC, Tamu

Class rank:
247: 10
Rivals/On3: 8
ESPN 11

Avg per player rank
247 12
Rivals/On3 12

So our biggest challenge going forward is who’s going to be the QB of this team in ‘26-'27, right?

I would agree that’s issue 1A at the moment.

Just some senior year injury updates.

Bacon- leg injury 3 or 4 games into season. Shut down senior year
Evans- Played 5 games and then foot injury, he came back either first or 2nd round of playoffs
Pickett- Knee injury early in the year, done for year.
Spafford - Injured foot in opener, came back a couple weeks later and tried to play through it, but he shut it down played 5 games total and missed playoffs

Briggs- no injury, but an incident punching a kid on a 4th down incompletion on a pass targeted for him as his team was down 60-30ish in their final playoff game of the season.
