I vote James. If he goes, strong possibility that Diaz goes too. That assumes the next AG is competent and wants to bring his own guy in.

I’d like to see a new AD this year.
New AD tells Diaz you have a QB, you have an offense (although a little weak on OL), but your defense sucks. It’s your defense. It’s been your defense for half a decade. It sucks. You have one season to fix it, and I’d recommend hiring someone else to run it. You have $2.5-3mm to spend.

Blake by a longshot. We get a good AD in here, the rest takes care of itself. It’s such a longterm commitment that the current HC doesn’t even matter.

I could live with this…He has to hire a new DC though. I still think there are good aspects to his defense. But there is no doubt it is simply not good right now and bottom line is what matters. I just have no clue what this man is doing with the LB position, playing time wise OR recruiting wise…He insists on playing the guys that are unathletic. But I could live with it simply because I like some of the hires he made and they SHOULD produce recruiting results (Although are ace recruiters what matters if you are talking 4-8 from portal as it appears we wanna do this year?)
He has upgraded the safety position
Now there are corner and defensive holes as well as LB…So defensive recruiting has it’s work cut out for it, and we are getting well into November here with only corner addressed (and we need at least 1 more there)

I was skeptical people would understand the bigger issue but this board isn’t your average fan board.

Frankly, IMHO, it’s pretty obvious. It all starts upstairs. You have a competent AD, the rest takes care of itself.
