It didn’t bode well already, but having an unproven QB vs Alabama the first game is going to be even worse.
Nothing was going to help that Bama game. Might as well get Garcia or DVD in there. Or Maybe King decides to look at this reads instead of trying to run next year. He missed a lot of open men.

For Perry I can see the move. His stock just went up big time and he’s looking at being a perennial backup. Maybe he’d play the first few games of the season, but that opens with Alabama.
Or he can go to another school, be a star, and raise his draft prospects.
It’s not a slam dunk decision but I can see the thought process. Especially since we need to consider he knows more than we do inside the program. Hey, maybe this is good news. Maybe it means King is very likely to start the season.
Makes sense for him. Time for him to move on. Find a place to play for an entire season. He’s been here long enough.
As for his draft prospects? Is the Arena Football League 2 still in existence? That’s about his only shot at getting a paycheck to play football.
Xfl reboot in 2022. The Rock owns it now so I wonder if Miami kids get any spots even if they aren’t good enough. Gotta hope that helps UM in some unknown way at some point.
Are they really rebooting it or did he just buy the company Bc it was cheap and he has the means to do so?
He isn’t going to play pro football. He should have his degree or will graduate at his next stop. Miami isn’t going to win a title next year. He should go Bc in 20 years, he’s going to wish he played. I’d rather play at a C-USA or Sun Belt school than sit at a power 5 school.

I’m happy for him. He grew up alot, and wants to be a starter somewhere to show what skills he may have or possibly grow into. King, VanDyke, and Garcia are lined up.

I think we sometimes forget that people just like to play football. It is entirely possible that Perry knows he has no shot at a professional career. But he loves actually playing the game. And going somewhere with a greater chance for playing time is attractive. I cannot blame someone for wanting to experience the joy of simply playing for what may be the final chance in their lifetime. Older folks know life is short, good for anyone young who gets that.
