Man losing the Auburn coach to UCF was a serious blow because just listening to Patke’s press conference I was super unimpressed!! He sounded like he didn’t know his ass from his elbow!!
Yeah, that was a big loss for us!
I’m more of a Patke fan than most.
Proof of success:
- Finley - pretty sure he is on an NFL roster
- Frierson - pretty sure he will make an NFL roster
- Hedley - pretty sure he will make an NFL roster
- The kicker brothers - pretty sure both will make an NFL roster
I’d expect Smith to LOCKDOWN the WLB. Brooks, Flagg, Steed, Cave should provide us a good enough 2 deep.
The man can coach IMO. Can he land some quality LBers? His success at Striker was likely more Banda landing safeties.

Overall I’m not a Patke fan, but it’s not a strong feeling
I believe he also recruited Zach Feagles and Bubba Baxa so there’s that.
I imagine he’ll find another transfer (Aussie?) punter since Hedley worked out so well.
Andy Borregales seems like he will work out well. Fingers crossed.
After the kicking game shyt show in 2019?, it was nice not to have to worry about it recently.
Seems like a good coach overall. He needs to recruit some LB’s.
