I haven’t seen data that suggests these are the only businesses having trouble retaining workers. I’m not saying you’re wrong, I’m just saying that has never been my impression.
I think “lucrative” may be the wrong term. To me it’s pretty simple. People get used to stimulus checks, extra unemployment benefits, and eviction notices. They have no incentive to work. And even if they do, they don’t want to work shitty hours making minimum wage. So they stay out of work.
It’s a vicious cycle. And what bothers me is the mentality that some are expecting this until the end of time, not being grateful for the help as they pick themselves up and prepare to go back to work.
I don’t have much sympathy for someone who needs stimulus money, gets it, and blows it on a trip to Disney.

A friend of mine was in a restaurant with her family and it took forever to get service. When the less-than-intelligent waiter came and apologized for the delay (he said they were short staffed), she asked why. He replied by saying that there are more jobs than people because so many people died of COVID.
Uhhh, no.
There are more jobs than people because Biden keeps handing them money. Why work?
And don’t get me wrong, the stimulus money was necessary for struggling families and people out of work. I don’t understand why Trump and Biden essentially gave out all this money indiscriminately. My family and I are lucky - we didn’t need the money. Give it to someone who truly needs it. I donated mine.
At some point people need to stop depending so much on the government and get back to work.
Novel observations…It is and HAS BEEN staring you right in the face. The whole middle and right and everyone who lives in the real world doesn’t bow down to the gospel of Maddow and the chase phony utopia predicted this…And you got right in line and voted for the people causing it.
