Our Law Enforcement can do better

I don’t understand why everybody’s attacking GSC. He makes a clear post about a specific issue and, instead of talking about the actual post, people are jumping into old political arguments.

It was a sincere approach to get feedback on an issue I deeply care about.

A clear post full of shit and not backed up by anything other than his fairy tale logic.

GSC has voiced concern about police abuse before. I believe that it was a sincere effort, like he said, to discuss the issue.

And yes, he used it as an example of not sticking to hardheaded conservative talking points, but credit where it’s due in my book. Anytime someone says “this is my party but I disagree with this thing they say,” that’s good.

That said, I don’t think his point is that much of a conservative outlier. Conservatives generally want smaller government and more freedoms, and that (to some degree) entails less abusive police. But sure, they are also the “law and order” party and were against all “defund the police” calls.

And that’s where the paradox lies. They somehow carve out the police and only point at elected and appointed officials.

Cops swear a fealty to the citizens to preserve their rights. Not trample them. But the fear of losing a pension or their jobs gives them amnesia.

Everyone should be held accountable, police officer or not. There isn’t really anything of substance here. It isn’t right or left.
