We lost a legend today.

The best there is.
The best there was.
The best there ever will be.

Man, the announcers aren’t nearly as good as they used to be. Legend.

Loved the games he called with Summerall.

Al Michaels is one of the last great announcers.

I like Brad Nessler. Tony Romo might be one of the best commentators I’ve ever heard. Romo knows his ish. I like when he pretty much calls the plays for each drive.

He is a voice of a generation for football fans. He will be missed.

This looks like a very NFL-centric discussion, but as announcers go, I would like to throw a name out there…

Keith Jackson was a legend.

The granddaddy of them all!

I know I’m in the minority but I can’t stand Romo. He talks too much. When he first started and was calling out plays at a good rate, it was cool. Now it seems like he misses as much as he is right. And he won’t just let things play out.

But Madden was really good and entertaining. And I don’t remember him sticking around too long, like a lot of the old announcers do. Lundquist at CBS was so out of it that he was calling the PBP of replays. And Dick Stockton was so bad the last few years of his career. With the Bucs sucking, FOX sent him down to Tampa a lot and the amount of mistakes he would make was ridiculous.
