No signing day thread at all?

Goodness, what’s happening out there? Who’s signed? Who might flip? Any surprises? I gotta know!

We really have had the life sucked out of us, haven’t we? No one’s even on this.

Jesus, I was thinking the same exact thing. I even just now checked the Herald and Sun-Sentinel and neither has a “tracker” article. Really weird. But I guess indicative of the times.

According to the Rivals/On3 site, 28 of our 29 commits are signed. I guess that’s a good thing? No surprises, though no flips either. Only the DT from Bear, DE is still not official.

Gotta be one of the most uneventful signing days in memory.

Calvin Russell not signing with SU today. Michigan is pursuing. I believe we are as well. Who knows anything about this? Still would love to add him.

I completely forgot it was signing day.

All 29 look to be in. Would love to add Russell. Not sure if we’re waiting on many others for decisions later today or not?

So did ESPN. On the NCAAF nav bar “Recruiting” isn’t there. Have to click on the “More” menu.

Of course, “Odds” are there…

Gaby U just said. ^^^

So who knows.

UM not getting Latimer, which would sound like a mild shock about 3-4 weeks ago, but as the days have wound down, the silence was kind of a telltale sign he wasn’t coming…Weird recruitment flipping from Wisconsin to WVU supposedly today.

Everything else seems on schedule and LB Karston Busch, former Lousiville commit is signing at 3 pm and everyone is predicting UM. That would be a nice get at a position of need.

The article from The Athletic itself doesn’t break any new ground, focus on building via high school recruiting versus portal acquisitions. But these graphics were interesting (to me at least).

You should be able to click on the image to enlarge.

Another great class. Miami’s roster is so much better than when Mario took over 4 years ago.

Miami loses some talent to graduation but has a lot of young talent.

I imagine Miami will pull some really good players in positions of need in the portal as well as lose some guys that are never going to play at Miami. Some of the backup QB’s will likely bolt for one.

Like UGA fans, I will be glad to see Beck go. (They hate him in Athens.)

If Miami can get a QB that is a difference maker, 10+ wins seems likely in 2026.

There are gonna be a lot of Beck haters in the next few years wishing we had him back. Cam Ward was our best QB of the last 20 years, undisputed, but Beck was #2 and it’s not even close.

its sad to see the focus of high school recruitment diminish this much thanks to the portal. NIL contracts should come with a 3 year time fulfillment before you can transfer. I would get more excited about recruting if I knew the players have to stick around for 3 years.

I would take Kaaya over Beck.

Berlin too if he is inside the 20 years.

Maybe even Rosier because at least he could run.

Beck isn’t terrible but he just isn’t all that great.

What is his completion and pick percentage on throws that traveled 25+ yards in the air?

I’m guessing not that great.

Dawson won’t even let him throw downfield any more. A lot of horizontal passes with the occasional slant mixed in.

I hope if Miami gets into the playoff (which seems unlikely for reasons) that Beck balls out and proves his detractors wrong.

What a disaster …

It would be nice if more high school recruits stuck around for all four years. Players like Bain. But understand the big goal is the NFL. Maybe with NIL a few more kids will stay for four years rather than roll the dice on getting drafted. I think the NFL is doing a better job of providing meaningful advice to early entrants. If I recall correctly the NBA is probably the leader in this, telling kids they need another year in college, etc.

Same!
