The list of Miami’s ex-HC’s is a woeful one indeed. From the bumbling (and program ending) Larry Coker …to Randy Shannon…to Al Golden …even to Butch Davis…not one is even being offered a “step-up” job.
The only one that should remotely be considered would be Butch…but I kinda want him to lose every game he coaches until the end of time.
His performance and defense of his FIU players flopping against us made me lose all respect for him.
Hey, Richt scored a prime gig.
No, Coker was not the long term solution, but he didn’t fumble when given the ball at the one yard line to win the national title. At least we’ll have that. Plus he’s 72… who’s calling him?
Shannon… joke. Fired. At least he can have fun claiming false national titles because he could never get it done here despite having a ponzi schemer bankroll his whole recruiting budget.
Golden… my God. The guy was ambushed when he got here. Did he have any inkling as to what was coming down the pike when he signed that contract? I don’t think the guy is a total loser, but Miami grinded him to a pulp and he sort of dug his own grave by not shaking up the defensive staff. At least for him, he can rest in knowing he gets to go to work and watch Joe Burrow grow into a great QB.
And as for Butch? his FAU or UNC career have no bearing on the reverence I hold for him. He’s 70, so I doubt mobility is on his mind anyway. He built the greatest college football team of all time. Enough said. Lay off.
