Nil for Miami

I may not totally understand the NIL and wonder how a team like Miami will be able to compete. Some of these schools that have large student bodies and fill large stadiums I assume will have an easier way to pay for top players. With Miami being a small school and does not have a good turn out for games how will they get the money for players. It does not seem feasible to me. Help me understand how Miami will be able to compete with the big boys. I don’t see people donating to the school for poor performances and no championships.

What NIL, along with the transfer portal has done is level the playing field. Teams are no longer able to stockpile players. There isn’t an unlimited source of funds. You can’t pay everyone. You have to be able to not only bring in the right players, but you have to be able to coach them too. It really comes down to coaching. CMC has gotten players here, but once they get here, they are not being coached well. Look at the move FSU just made. They went out and got Gus Mahlzahn, a former HC to be their new OC. CMC better make a similar move in kind on the defensive side of the ball. This is going to be a very long offseason. Who knew a 10 win season would be this frustrating.

Malzahn likes to run the football. He’ll improve FSU’s offense.
