I’m not sure of having better players is the solution. I think Miami had better talent than any team they played and still lost 2 games and close to losing a few more.
I have said this for years.
A team of good players who play great together will beat a team of great players who play good together.
Next year, not this year…And they seemingly have some cash. They have momentum, I wouldn’t tell you they did if they didn’t. The time to negative recruit them has passed…They announced he was staying and that coincided with a winning streak and a popular frosh QB.
As usual it’s both…Moreso overall talent, unless you have bad coaching. There is a point where coaching can make a great team just a good team and a good team an average one. For instance Cristobal singhle-hadedly cost us G.Tech last year, and we’ll say he cost us half a win this year, because we don’t know if we would beat Cuse, just that it was a piss poor coaching exhibition in an absolute winnable game.
Also although stacked yes, none of these teams are as good as we’ve seen some of the monster teams in recent years.
Our coaching was so bad yesterday I don’t know where to start.
Go watch the game and watch every Fletcher carry vs. every Martinez carry…It looks like Fletcher is running blindfolded with flippers on. And somehow he had 4 more touches than Martinez in our biggest game of the year…The field goal decision, then taking 30 seconds to kick a fg, I could go on forever. I wanna vomit right now lol
You’re more likely to see aerial pigs than Miami winning ten games next year. Anyone who thinks Emory Williams is an adequate replacement for Cam Ward has a loose connection in their mental circuitry. Time to get out the checkbook and find a QB, or we may wind up following FSU into the dumpster. Our egregious loss to Syracuse, I presume, does not exactly add a great deal of luster to becoming a Hurricane. Looking back, we played our best game of the season against Florida. It’s a good thing we played them early. If we played them tomorrow, we’d be assured afterwards of commitments fleeing like rats on a sinking ship. Damn, I am depressed. One of my Alabama friends, not one of the smart ones, a complete fool if you will, just commented what a dummy Cristobal was kicking the FG. I simply hated him for being right.
So we have a coach who’s known for his RECRUITING and certainly NOT for his game day, Saturday acumen in the least. So now he’s going to enter year FOUR without his stud QB who was responsible for this team NOT LOSING about 5 games as usual and having to RIP his DEFENSE apart yet again and rebuild it in the portal in all probability, right? I mean, there’s NO WAY you bring a lot of these guys back, including the DC, correct?
So why is Mario here again? They’re never prepared on Saturdays and they’re still not built right. Every year it’s find another 25 guys in the portal. Do you notice you see NO DECLINE in Oregon football at all? They lost Mario and knew EXACTLY who they wanted as a replacement and UPGRADED with Dan Lanning. Funny how the good programs can do that, isn’t it?
