That said, if true I don’t understand the reason for this.
If I was doing a survey for MLB and they asked me what party I’m affiliated with my response would be “I’m a member of the None Of Your Damn Business” Party.
I’ve gone to a couple Rays games this year. I never take the surveys but when back into the trashed emails and found it and it definitely asks your party affiliation. It’s the last questions on the survey after asking questions about the general experience of the game. Parking/concessions/pricing/protocols/etc.
It’s a voluntary survey. This is a dumb thing to worry about.
Companies want as much info about you as they can get. If MLB sees that half of respondents are republicans, maybe they decide to cater to them better. It’s just standard data collection, and you can individually choose what you’re comfortable with.
1,000% agree. Sporting events is one of the only gatherings where people don’t give a fuck what color you are, religion, political affiliation, etc. It’s one of the only places where you will literally hug a complete stranger after your team pulls a miracle win.
Yup, agreed. There are special cases, obviously, where people make names for themselves by pandering, but sports should be about wholesome fun and escapism.
