Miami vs Louisville game thread

Moore or preferably Trader needs to play. No one beats coverage besides Toney on this team.

But MC does not seem to want to budge on the Trader thing. The kid is in the doghouse and can’t seem to get out….I would guess portal shortly after the season.

Tonight I got a taste of what the Crimson Tide fans felt last year when they were humbled by Vanderbilt. Tonight’s game, I think, was an extension of the 4th quarter we suffered through against FSU. Thankfully, the clock ran out on the Seminoles, or we might have lost that one too. How in the world did Louisville dominate the game? How the ACC has changed this year. Virginia and Georgia Tech are leading in the conference standing. Who would thunk such a thing would take place. Virginia must be pretty damn good to have beaten this Louisville bunch. And, Georgia Tech has a true warrior at QB in Haynes King. Damn, I thought I would see an incarnation of our glory seasons of the past. I’d just like to live long enough to see the Hurricanes win one more national championship. I’d better start living a cleaner, more healthful life that my dream be fulfilled.

Trader really has great hands and catches sometimes acrobatically balls others would miss. Moore has superior size and sure hands as well. In a fifty/fifty situation, he’s going to win most of the time. I wonder what the deal is with Trader. He was great on that team even with Jeremiah Smith. I agree he’s probably going to hit the portal, and there will be a host of team bidding for his talent. My biggest concern is the lack of improvement in our rushing game. We have good RBs and a good OL. What we lack is creativity.

Supposed practice/attitude issues…He was hurt early on as well. I haven’t read every update but that seems to be the issue, he doesn’t practice hard enough for CMC’s liking.

That’s pushing it…They didn’t dominate the game. They were a little better than us tonight and deserved to win no doubt. The penalties are hurting, we were out-coached a little, and Beck’s picks killed us. We can’t win with that Carson Beck.

Louisville is a good team, (I bumped em up from 25th to 20ish after this and Brahm did what he does, kills a giant once or twice a year…Excellent coach, one of the top 5 in CFB imo)

It also has to be worth noting…And these aren’t excuses, but no UM team in 20 years under 5 coaches, seems to play well at home off bye weeks, not sure if it’s the big city/South beach distractions or what it is, but it’s been this way for a very long time. It may have also been a weird dynamic/momentum killer playing 1 game in 3 weeks, that is rare in CFB.

The whole season is there if we want it. If you would have told me we were 5-1 after ND, UF, FSU, Ville I would have been happy and I would have basically said no chance to be undefeated after 6 games, so here we are. I’m worried about Pitt late in the year, but we will be a TD or more fav in every game.

The margin of error in college football now is almost ZERO. Ohio State had the best team in college football last year and lost twice and should have lost to Nebraska. Miami should have won the game. I would have not allowed Beck to throw anything outside the hash. Quick slants or deep fades. I don’t believe he is even close to 100 percent. His arm looks shot on some of the deeper throws. This is a game Miami should have won but found a way to lose it.

Why isn’t Josh Moore playing? We always have these highly touted recruits that don’t get utilized. He looked good early in the season. Our WR outside of Toney couldn’t get open.

Also, that Louisville team has some players. They got to the outside on Miami’s d a lot and we haven’t seen that this year. Bell could also do whatever he wanted on our dbs. Frédérique is good, but he got soundly beaten most of the night.

Disappointing loss for sure but I’m not that down on Miami. We are still a really good team, but there are some weaknesses and puzzling decisions.

We were a TD or more favorite in this one, too.

I am a Steelers fan. I have been since I was a kid. I will be 55 next month. This Canes team is somewhat similar to my Steelers this year, specifically on D and in the run game.

First, Beck had a BAD night. Had he not tried to win the game on every throw then I think we win.

Second, our offense is very predictable at times. What’s up with our run game? We are supposed to have the best or one of the best lines in football and a good stable of backs. However, our runs seem to be 99% up the middle, slow developing, plodding. Why? I was going to ask where Trader is but I see above there are alleged attitude issues. All we seem to have is Daniels and Toney? Why aren’t we using our TE’s?

Third, penalties!!! This is a huge issue for me. It’s a sign of an undisciplined team. Granted the refs weren’t the best last night but we had some bone head penalties. That’s on coaching AND it’s also on our on field leaders.

Fourth, our D, early on, was horrible. No emotion. No energy. Tackling all game was bad, bad angles, getting out run, that last UL TD their WR ran through and by our entire secondary!!

Still, after all of that junk we had a chance to win. I just knew after the second TD and we were down by 14 it was over. The team just didn’t show up to play a full game. It’s frustrating because this loss is on us more than it was UL being “better.”

We still control our destiny but we did lose an ACC game. SMU will be a tough game.

The sky isn’t falling but man what a disappointing effort last night.

The penalties were crushing. It’s what we’ve come to expect with Miami, unfortunately.

I think the offense is way too predictable. Outside of the bubble screen, we have no reliable play right now. And the bubble screen is going to get exposed. It did a few times last night.

The running game has no juice. 3 yards and a cloud of dust.

Louisville stacked the box. Miami’s play calling was too predictable.

Dawson should have utilized all the usual counter a stacked box ploys to keep L-ville honest; he didn’t.

I think Beck’s arm is okay, he has a bad habit of hanging throws to allow the receiver to adjust to al long pass (mostly Toney.) It also allows the DB’s time to adjust and there’s the rub. Also, it’s not a great idea to throw jump ball passes to receivers who are 5’10”.

Yes, they stacked the box, which if I am Miami with that Massive line I would take it as a personal challenge to be a mauler for the entire game. Unacceptable how the line played. Our run game is putrid, really. It’s nothing more than RPO handoff up the middle. Louisville came out PREPARED and not scared of us at all.

I don’t mind losing a game, really. What I mind is the lack of mental preparation and schematic preparation for a known opponent.

Beck didn’t lose the game for us. It took us being down 14-0 to finally wake up a bit on D. Take one of those TD’s away and we win the game, albeit an ugly one.

Honestly, no excuse in HOW we lost the game.

It’s time to let other dudes start playing/helping out at WR and start to use our TE. We have THREE very capable backs, too.

Anyway….
