Very early in the year, I picked FSU to upset Miami. I still think it will happen. Why? Whenever we get our hopes up, they seem to come crashing down. With the advent of TVD, we’re on a roll. Losing to the Seminoles will bring everyone back down to earth swilling in misery to which we have more or less become accustomed. I’d love to be completely wrong on this one.
FSU actually has a rushing attack. If their coach sticks to rushing the football, which I think is ulikely, he’ll defeat the Canes. We’re just not very good against the rush. Norvell has made some terrible strategy mistakes this year which surprised me inasmuch as I thought he did a pretty good job at Memphis. He definitely gets pass happy when he should be moving the rock on the ground. He deserves a mountain of credit if he can hold together this year’s recruiting class.
FSU’s defensive front is capable of putting pressure on Van Dyke. Van Dyke has played so well that you cannot possibly believe that a less spectacular performance is in the works. FSU’s defense played hard against Notre Dame, and the Seminoles could easily have won that game. There is just great parity among ACC teams. There is no Clemson reigning over the rest of the teams. This is Norvell’s first game against the Canes,I believe he really wants to win this one. I am calling it FSU 30 to 17.
Won’t shock me at all if we lose. I’ve loved our offensive output the last few games (stop trying to run up the middle), as well as our fight. But we can’t expect to win all these close games.
I’d love to see another 52-10 win to make it 5 straight. We’ll see.
And if Miami wins nobody will give credit as FSU is a bad team and has been for several years. Nothing to win but the game tomorrow. No respect won and only respect to lose.
I am considering betting Over…Not a fan of either defense.
I’ll call it 34-33 Miami but I believe it’s a toss up. Impossible for me to trust our defense with the huge hole at LB and there may be chunk runs available for Norvell’s offense (his offense did same thing at Memp too) even if we get our share of TFL. Would only take points if I was betting but like I said I’m not touching side.
I’ve bet one Miami game all year and it was + at Pitt.
I get the sense it’s a huge game for recruiting as well…Cue Storm Front and his “kid’s don’t care in 3,2,1”…But the point is some do/and some don’t…And we are battling FSU for a couple sofla kids right now and they want to see where UM/FSU programs truly are right now. Not to mention a loss will send the calls for Diaz head through the roof. And there’s a huge chance in-state right now expect with what’s going on in Gainesville.
Did you miss the horse collar before that? How about the late hit out of bounds before that? Or the repeated offsides and missed tackles? The defense better get their act together.
It’s likely TVD gets exposed this weekend. The pressure on him hurts, but FSU’s secondary is gonna hurt more.
Last week TVD showed the chinks in his armor. He forces the ball into tight coverage sometimes. He just did that on 1st down and got lucky. The very next play he chucks it up like Jacory and gets picked. Both times there was 1 Cane surrounded by 3+ Noles.
