Alright, it’s Tuesday and it looks like have some guys coming back that are “all the way back” according to CMC.
What are your thoughts on FSU this year?
Are WE really that much better?

Hard to say offensively as they earlier put up some points on SMU, Alabama and Virginia. Is Ashton Daniels all that? The Kromah kid appears to be a good running back by the stats, have not watched him. WRs seem to be able to stretch the field based on the YPC. Kicker seems to be solid if it comes down to that.
Defense, well Louisville just dropped 44 on them. The dismissal of the frosh CB might point to some locker room dissension. Kids circling their own wagon as the see the boat sinking (love a good mixed metaphor).
The “odds” all seem to favor Miami and a cursory search of a few websites seems to see most of the “action” on Miami’s side.
To me the bye week is a sword that cuts both ways. They needed the rest and recovery time. But the extra week off also can dampen momentum. In a rivalry game, and with the FSU team possible checking out on their coach, stupid penalties probably a big factor. Late hits, roughing, things of that nature. Poorly channeled anger.
As a related aside, how many members watch 2-3 college football games a week? Or more? Probably without doing that it is hard to get a feel for other teams as well as the general “tenor of the sport” these days. Like, it is highly unlikely I will watch Alabama-Auburn or USC-UCLA. Just got better things to do with my time. When I was 22 much more likely I’d watch.
I have been watching quite a bit the last two seasons. Children getting older and Miami being better has offered both time and incentive .
On FSU this season from what I’ve seen. RB is good. Big, fast, not afraid of contact. Have a big WR that should give people fits but overall they’ve seemed inconsistent. A mobile qb w an arm that looked really good early last week then it fell apart. Same with the D overall last week, came out looking great. Big push from the DL, etc. Then that fell apart, too. They have enough pieces to “make it interesting” if given the chance. Hope that’s not the case and Miami is just business.
I watch pretty much all day Saturday from the early games until I fall asleep. Mostly try to watch the ranked teams to compare to Miami. This is what I don’t like about the rankings. Miami is 3 because they have not lost yet but I can’t see them beating any of the other top 10 teams from what I have seen so far. I have not seen ND play yet. Offense is good enough but defensively is not good. But I was wrong last year as well. I didn’t think they would go as far as they did in playoffs.
We beat OSU, ND and Ole Miss last year, I know that’s last year but I think we can beat a few of these top 10 teams.
Rational, I watch a fuck ton of college ball. Like, a lot. I ain’t got nothing to do Saturday but mow and I’m not gonna mow. lol I’m not leaving my chair from Gameday until 1 am west coast games except for refreshments, food and the bathroom
My first team/love always the Canes, my second team is my daughters school Arizona State, but all college football be loved!
As for FSU, I can see us coming out slow with the bye, close early and win by 17 at minimum. Just handle business and don’t get cute. Pressure the qb and blits the hell out of them.
Just saw that Miami is a 21.5 point favorite. That seems defensible. Have to wonder at what point the FSU team just quits on Norvell.
Looking at tomorrow’s matchups…
OSU vs. Indiana. Have to root for Indiana in this case.
Alabama vs. Tenn, duh, Tenn.
Of course BYU over ND but slim chance there. Would be the cherry on top of a Miami win.
Watched last eight minutes or so of OSU-Indiana. Not sure how Sayin got hurt but the backup looked totally lost out there. Crazy end to the game. Anyone sold on Hoover being a championship caliber QB?
So Florida won. The Myth of Manning takes another hit it seems.
My prediction. His stock drops, maybe third QB taken. Jets get him with the #10 pick. Career makes Ken O’Brien look like HOFer.
He got hit hard on the play where he fumbled late in the fourth. Backup was a deer in the headlights imo. IU blew it. Crazy finish.
To the previous point of where Miami stands this year. Not as good as last. Not bad by any means. Can score. If we are healthy I think we hold our own against anyone and it’s just a matter of who wins that day. I don’t see us being at such a drop off level despite being weaker overall this year. Who knows. At least we don’t suck.
Now handle FSU as you’d expect them to this time. Go ‘Canes
I also can’t stand how BC v Pitt result games mean the ACC is absolute crap, but Florida and Texas (this week’s example) means the SEC is just so friggin great. Not saying the conferences are level but the logic is really frustrating imo
May be the craziest game I’ve ever seen. Bat shit crazy and we still have so many injured players! For the love of all things holy, can we replace the toddler shoulder pads with some more protection?!?!?! 300 shoulder injuries later, something is up.
