The FSU QB escape ability is posing a problem. Glad we turned it over on downs.
Ground and pound.
They finally got to him!
Got to him too late that time!
BS call that probably stops this game being blown up. That was not pass interference.
Iād keep running the ball. Weāve been in control the entire time.
Who else saw that coming? Nice play!
Might give us another touchdown, and how sweet that would be!
A blowout is a blowout! I will take it. FSU was never in this game. The defense has been outstanding.
I didnāt even watch the game, just kept track of it off and on via the ESPN Gamecast, a play by play thing and Iām still pissed off.
Iāve watched a lot of football, we all have. I canāt remember ANY team that gave up so many 3rd and longs and 4th down conversions as this team. Seriously, if they keep records on these things, Miami must be close to establishing a new record. Itās fcking infuriatingā¦
Miami should have easily won this game by 40+, FSUās offense is abysmal and only Miamiās inept defense kept the game from being a huge blowout. 22 points under the circumstances isnāt all that hot, IMHO.
If Miami makes the playoffs, they will get torched in the first round if they play a team with a decent offense.
A win is a win and all, but have some pride. Your arch rival sucks this year, you play them on a Saturday night at home and you donāt beat them into the ground and win by 40+??? And you give up a TD on the last possession to these 1-6 losers that you are supposed to hate???
Also, Dawson ā¦ why are you throwing the ball in the waning minutes when you should be burning clock especially since you have two big bruiser backs that FSU canāt stop. I donāt get it.
And going for a 2 point conversion up 29-7?
End of rant.
Now you see why I donāt watch the games live anymore.
Miami isnāt great but itās a win.
I donāt see that much that is worth getting upset about.
We are what we are, a really good team with flaws. Enjoy it instead of b*tching.
I find myself surprised how much FSU has fallen since last year. We know all too well what it is not to have a dependable QB. While Ward didnāt have his best game, he still was unflappable as the team leader. It was clear throughout the game that Miami was the superior team.
Iām glad Miami won but they should have done much better IMHO.
Winning by 22 over a suck ass team like FSU seems like a hollow victory.
FSU is terrible. I canāt remember them having a worse team than this one.
So, weāll see. The team is 8-0, better than all of us expected. They might win the ACC for once but I think they get eliminated in the first round of the playoffs if they make it that far.
Like I posted a few weeks back; great offense, suck defense.
ā¦and breatheā¦and breatheā¦calming thoughtsā¦calming thoughts !
FIFY
Oh, I totally didnāt realize this because it doesnāt matter butā¦
STATE CHAMPS!!! LOL!
beat 4-3 UF
beat 1-7 FSU
beat 3-5 USF
beat FCS FAMU
OH MY GOD, I CANāT BELIEVE I TOOK THE TIME TO POST THIS, LOLOLOLOL!!!
The past two weeks both Manny Diaz and Mario realized at some point in the game that FSU had zero shot at winning. They went in conservative mode. Miami had very few designed runs for Ward. They did not really test the outside at all. Miami would run right up the gut for 8 yards and take it. Miami was never in danger of losing. Mario played if safe and you saw the results. Miami could have honestly named the score tonight. FSU had nothingā¦and Miami knew this.
Cam didnāt have his best game, FSUās secondary has pretty good coverage, and Miami employed the run game and short passing game more than usual. While it would have been nice to light them up more, establishing short passes and runs was something this team desperately needed to work on. It canāt just be shootout or bust.
On top of that, we settled for FGs a few times when we could have pushed it if we wanted to. The fact is there was no need. Miami was in control. Besides that weird 2-point conversion attempt, we didnāt push anything.
I wish Miami had a better defense but it could always be worse ā¦
5 years ago, being a Canes fan was brutal.
With a few exemptions, no one who played in that game ever got a whiff of the NFL.
DJ, Mallory, Osboure are about it. Headley was the starting punter for the Saints last year but was cut this season. I donāt think Jarren Williams ever played in a game after 2019. James Morgan is on a CFL practice squad. Jeff Thomas, Camron Harris, etc never played again after leaving Miami.
Manny gets his shot at revenge next week. FIU fired Davis at the end of 2021.
I try not to think about it. Ugh
