Elite80 was high on Martinez, but I wasn’t convinced about his strength as a RB, and in turn criticized him. After watching him in the Louisville game, I realized I was hasty in my negative judgment. I love smash mouth football as does Mario having been an offensive lineman. Martinez put on a power football clinic. Here’s a great video of Martinez in his finest game to date.
I was in the same boat. I wasn’t overly impressed with him so far during the season. During the Louisville game he showed how much of a beast he can be. That one in the 3rd quarter and his TD run were pure power.
If we start using him like this with more and more success then our offense will be unstoppable.
This is obviously the goal. Let’s see if we can develop it.

That touchdown run was incredible. Having him and Fletcher as a 1-2 punch with the way our OL has been run blocking has been key!
Dunno if many here can remember when Iron-Head Heyward ran for 254 yds against Vinnie and a great 'Canes D …but that run makes you remember that nightmare. Yeesh!
That kid is a Larry Csonka, John Riggins, Earl Campbell like beast.
He reminds me of Alonzo Highsmith that way he just runs over defenders.
