I’m leaning a little more towards the Lane Train. Mario strikes me as Butch-like guy — A+ recruiting but weak game day coach. I think he’d easily amass enough talent to out-play the ACC and get into playoffs every other year. That said, the playoffs IMO make the post-season tougher now and the margins for error (crap coaching) collapse. Look how often Notre Dame gets ‘exposed’ in the playoffs.
Lane won’t put together as talented of a team, but he’ll better utilize (on offense) the guys he has. I used to think he was a walking NCAA infraction. Buuuuut, considering Ole Miss hasn’t been clobbered for something Bama did yet, maybe the NCAA would be soft on him at Miami too?
That said, either would be a welcome upgrade from Diaz.

I think Kiffin has matured a lot. At 26 he grew up under Pete Carrol. Then he went to the Al Davis, then Rocky Top, then UT. All sort of shit shows from a program perspective. 3 years under Saban probably helped him immensely.

No inside info, but I feel kiffin to UF feels more likely than Miami. Think that would be a better fit for him too
