MMA is barbaric and should be banned, but I still watch it. I guess we’d have made good Romans.
Not an MMA fan…Used to be more of a boxing fan because my grandfather was a boxing guy and grew up watching it with him…but faded away there too.
MMA spawned a whole generation of assholes at the bar while you’re trying to grab a drink…At least they finally put those Affliction shirts away for the most part.
The top names on your list seem to be pretty consensus even if the order is maybe one up or one down. Those Russians today seem to be bad mfers
Dramatically less barbaric than football or boxing…and usually dealt with significant respect on each side as well. As its evolved with coupling Muay Thai, Jiujitsu, American boxing and wrestling…it has become an art and resembles the archaic barbarism of the past much, much less.

Vicious! It’s the southern Russians, those mixed with Mongols like the Dagestanis who are having their day. That Sambo style is tough, and they have a knack for unrelenting takedowns and then boxing your legs in a triangle with their legs and smashing your face. Once they lock in that triangle on your legs above the knee, it is over.
No love for any of the Gracie’s? I know very little about MMA, so this list may be very good and I wouldn’t know it lol.

I train in jujitsu almost daily and love it, so I hugely appreciate the Gracie family. But, none of them are in the top 10 historical mma fighters. Roger Gracie is hands down the best Gi-grappler in history, though. No doubt.
Junior at 7 over Stipe even Cain? Junior lost to Cain twice and then Stipe and Francis and then went on a 5 fight losing streek. WTF? At 7?
This must be your list of your favorites rather than the top 10. Junior and Overeem don’t belong in the top 30. Machida is a legend and I freaking love the guy, but he’s not anywhere in the vicinity either. How in the world do you not have Nunez or Johnson in your top 10?

Was a big boxing fan. Never been a fan of MMA.
I remember watching the OG MMA as a kid. They would pit a kickboxer against a sumo wrestler, and a boxer against a brazilian jiu jitsu expert.
Some people were REALLY outclassed.
