There is definitely something to the conservative diatribe about lack of focus on men, regular ass men, these days.
I was thinking the other day about music and how there is nothing I’d consider music for men in the top 100 these days
Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, One Direction, Bruno Mars…there isn’t one single song that I wouldn’t consider to be a chick song in the top 100. When Maroon 5 is the most outwardly non-chick song in the top 100 songs, we have a problem.
Are dudes listening to this pop shit? For real? Is that why we have an army of little incel cunts who can’t get their dick wet wanting to burn down the world? Rap is mumble bullshit these days. There are a few rock bands, but they’re all dating back 20 years, at least.
What the fuck happened to music? Hall and Oates is like Megadeath compared to this shit

Honestly, pop is the problem. It’s a bunch of soft music for people who barely pay attention to music.
When you start actually looking for good music, there’s plenty of it out there. You just need to drill down a little bit.
Got any suggestions? Always been a bit of a music junkie, but I’m at a loss as to new music that’s good. Can’t find it anywhere
That’s a tough question because music’s so subjective.
For well structured rock songs, I like Silversun Pickups.
If you want more of a forlorn dad vibe you can’t go wrong with The National.
For something legitimately new, an edgy young band I’ve recently gotten into is Been Stellar.
If you want 80s synth check out NoNight.
There’s also a whole lot going on in the metal space, if that’s your thing, but I don’t know much about that genre. Lots of crazy stuff out there.
Love Silversun and The National. Saw The National in concert a few times…but, again, they’re 20 years old. I can find a ton of great bands from the early 2000s or even mid. But, new bands are severely lacking. Nonight was okay. I’ve seen a few newcomers like Vortxz (My Love), Djo (End of Beginning), etc…the last band that was solid throughout was Superorganism and that was quite a while ago.
We used to go to ACL Festival in Austin for 13 or 14 years straight. Super into music. But, nothing solid and new is coming out. I don’t get much into metal, so I have no idea on that front. Old school metal is fun, though.
Admittedly those first two bands aren’t new, but they’re both still making music and the latest albums are great.
I do have a high bar for getting into new music tho, so a lot of it passes me by. There’s kind of a resurgence of 90s indie rock going on now (Been Stellar does some of that). But hip hop and electronic has exploded since the mid-90s, and pop has come back in a big way, so rock is the black sheep these days.
