There are some serious issues on the teaching/coaching side no matter what someone says about talent. You canāt have your DE dropping into the flat when there is literally no one to cover on that half of the field. This happened multiple times! Who is he covering? He either has to come late to rush the QB or move towards the hash to help compress the zones.

We lost contain pretty consistently. DEs/LBs would be looking inside only to have the QB run outside OR the DEs/LBs would go way to far outside leaving massive holes for the QB to step up into or run through. Half of the time the DE/DT would be stunting inside at the same time making the hole MASSIVE!

#14 took out 3-4 different screens just by beating his block, two of which were MALLORY! You mean to tell me a 250lb TE canāt block at 190lb DB? I get the kid is a top 100 DB but the demeanor is very different. That kid pushed our guys around and our guys (read Mallory) didnāt make him pay. When you outweigh your man by 60lbs, you should be able to rag doll him.

Zion is NOT a 1st rounder and not even a first 3 round guy as of today. He needs to come back for 2022 and control the line against some better teams. He got pushed around by guys that were 30-40lbs less than him.

When there is no one within 25 yards of you, the should be teaching them to move towards the hashes vs sidelines. This compresses the zones giving less space for the opponent to make plays.
When you have first-time starters at LB and DE, then run tons of stuns and blitz packages you better make sure they know who has contain. Clearly, the players didnāt know so either they fucked up by running the packages OR they didnāt drill into their heads enough because it was broken on almost every play.
Sure but this gets back to dropping a DE into the flats with no one within 25 yards. They arenāt playing match-up zone. Instead, they are dropping into an area and letting Bama run free through their zones. Since you understand BB zones, you should understand the concept of rotating the DE towards the hashes since no one is on his half of the field thus compressing the zones.
You are playing a man 1 or man 2 concept. If that WR gets by him, Hall should be covering the deep passes and the idea is that you are preventing easy releases thus giving the front 7 .5-1 second more time to get to the QB before the WR is even into his route. In some cases, a good CB can prevent the WR from even getting into a route. TS is 215lbs and likely could have prevented his man from releasing on most plays. Thus, removing Mechie from the play OR at least breaking up the timing. Instead, Mechie is allowed to find a soft spot in the Zone because we donāt play match-up zone.
2021: Ivey over Couch, Scaife over Justice, Cam over Chaney. Iād bet we will see 2-3 others pop-up in the coming weeks as WTF were they thinking.

Saban doesnāt fire coaches. They resign under pressure from Saban. This is how the game is played. Those coaches donāt have the negative stigma about being fired. Heck, most of the time Saban tells them to start looking or the writing is already on the wall.

Ivey was fooled on a post corner. Hall was in man-1 and failed to cover the deepest man. Thus, two mistakes on one play. Now if Ivey was allowed to press 8, he may have held him up for .5-1 second allowing the front to get to the QB. At worst, the same play happens.
