Blockquote “In the seventh century of the Christian era, a wandering Arab of the lineage of Hagar, the Egyptian, combining the powers of transcendent genius, with the preternatural energy of a fanatic, and the fraudulent spirit of an impostor, proclaimed himself as a messenger from Heaven, and spread desolation and delusion over an extensive portion of the earth. Adopting from the sublime conception of the Mosaic law, the doctrine of one omnipotent God; he connected indissolubly with it, the audacious falsehood, that he was himself his prophet and apostle. Adopting from the new Revelation of Jesus, the faith and hope of immortal life, and of future retribution, he humbled it to the dust, by adapting all the rewards and sanctions of his religion to the gratification of the sexual passion. He poisoned the sources of human felicity at the fountain, by degrading the condition of the female sex, and the allowance of polygamy; and he declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as a part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind. THE ESSENCE OF HIS DOCTRINE WAS VIOLENCE AND LUST: TO EXALT THE BRUTAL OVER THE SPIRITUAL PART OF HUMAN NATURE.” [emphasis added]
Passage on Muhammad by an anonymous author in The American Annual Register for the Years 1827-8-9 (1830), edited by Joseph Blunt, Ch. X, p. 269. Robert Spencer attributed the authorship to Adams in The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades) (2005), p. 83, but provided no clear documentation as to why this attribution was made.
His writing was cited dozens of times in a manifesto written by the Norwegian terrorist Anders Breivik. Spencer was banned from the United Kingdom as an extremist in July 2013.
In 2013 the UK Home Office barred Spencer from travel to the UK for three to five years for "making statements that may foster hatred that might lead to inter-community violence
You’re consistent - consistently lying, but consistent
Robert Spencer is an authority on the perniciousness of Islam.
While the authorship of the paragraph may be debated, there is no debate about the bellicose effect Islam has had on humanity. I have a general disdain for religion which I consider mythical nonsense, but I have a special disdain for Islam which foments terrorism and maltreatment of half its adherents.
Anders Brevik should have been summarily executed.
False. He received his MA in religious studies from UNC doing his masters on Catholic History.
He has said he has been studying Islamic theology, law, and history since 1980, though his publications on Islam and Muslims lack academic peer-review and have been published by fringe publishers.[16][17]
Spencer was criticized by clergy in the Catholic Church because of his views on Islam.[12] He left the church in 2016 to return to the Greek Orthodox Church as a result of “personal reflection and historical study”.[19]
An October 2010 investigative report by The Tennessean described Spencer as one of several individuals who “… cash in on spreading hate and fear about Islam.” Tennessean investigation concluded: “IRS filings from 2008 show that Robert Spencer earned $132,537 from the David Horowitz Freedom Center, and Horowitz pocketed over $400,000 for himself in just one year.”[20][21]
Also, he’s for sure not an expert on quoting the right people or being honest about whom he’s attributing quotes to, huh?
You LITERALLY titled it “John Quincy Adams on Islam.” While I don’t like Islam either, you LITERALLY use that title. But, I appreciate you standing up and admitting you were lying about it…oh wait.
Agreed, but weird considering last year you were promoting the same anti-Islam site he posted his manifesto on
Wrong word, Warden. Lying requires willful intent while being mistaken on a message board is a ubiquitous characteristic of the genre.
I’ve known David Horowitz personally for over forty years. He’s as fine of a person of any I’ve ever known. A talented and prolific writer, his autobiography should be required reading for muttonheads. Robert Spencer is also quite a scholar and has written a profound number of books. Spencer speaks Arabic and has a recondite knowledge of Islam, its history and doctrines.
On the subject of peer reviews, it is academic suicide to berate liberal scholarship while it is de rigueur to hammer conservatives. Scientific journals do a much better subjecting manuscripts to criticism since science is considerably less subjective than other disciplines. Robert Spencer writes good books and well deserves reward for same. Spencer wrote one of the best pieces I’ve read recently, appearing in Frontpage Magazine, pertaining to the origins of Islamic doctrines while questioning whether Mohammad existed at all. You’ll note that Spencer’s work is always documented by a wealth of citations.
You need to visit Israel, Warden. It’s more fun than anything imaginable. Great night life and amiable people whether Jew or Arab. You’ll see people of all races getting along splendidly. Then, you cross the Green Line, and you get an idea of life three or four centuries back into antiquity. You’ll also get a gander of true apartheid characteristic of Islamic cultures.
Translated - Conservatives lie and don’t like being peer reviewed or fact checked…just like this entire post being claimed it was from John Quincy Adams
Palestinian even SELL their children to be voluntary, human bombs. Palestinian terrorists hide out in schools and mosques. There is no moral equivalence between Israel and its enemies.
Fun mental sparring. Though, I still think you plant shit knowing I’m going to disprove you just for the fun of it. I highly doubt you are naive. I’d love to do it in person. Surprisingly, I tend to get along with cats like you quite well, though, when I call you out on your shit you give me that smile that assures me know exactly that you were trying to bullshit. I think you know the supporting material you try and use is full of shit, but the motivations are not. I also believe you know I know. This is just fun banter for a bored fella on a boat with shit else to do and still pissed that schools got integrated.
Bikki is naive in that he has Old Person syndrome. Whether it’s a phone call asking for his bank numbers or a social media post with fake facts, bikki automatically believes the source whole hog.
Past that, bikki is not naive. All the “Trump is the best president ever” stuff is complete satire on his part. He is in love with his humor as much as he is his fishing stories.
