Joe Yearby Syndrome

Xavier Restrepo, Sam Brown and Jacolby George, defensive back Daryl Porter Jr., offensive lineman Jalen Rivers and kicker Andres Borregales.

I think AB is out of eligibility so I’m not sure he declared. If his brother, who was a better kicker, didn’t make it in the NFL … AB was a great college kicker and I hope the next guy is as good (Abrams?)

Some of the kids that are declaring early to the NFL are living in a dream world.

They weren’t even standouts in college so it seems very unlikely they we will make an NFL roster.

I think a few have a good shot; Martinez, Restrepo. Ward is going in the first round.

But, most of the others, I’ll be shocked if they make a roster.

Jacolby George? Really?

Getting drafted or signed as a UFA is one thing, making a roster another.

Jacolby George maybe one of those situations where you politely ask him to leave. He did not make good decisions on the field.

Just remember…“Declaring early” is only “Early” because of covid with some of these guys. They are basically only saying no to a 6th year. This isn’t the same as it used to be.

George is off back to back 50 catch years and has played 4 years worth of football…Sam Brown has actually played 4.5 years of football, was injured early on in career

I am actually getting sick of all this remaining extra covid eligibility…It used to be you couldn’t get kids to stay, now you can’t get them to leave. Obviously JMO

I have not read up on any draft stuff at all…So this is a guess

My guess for our guys

Ward high 1st, I guess they are saying #1 pick
Arroyo Mid 2 to 4, assuming knee checks out
Martinez between late 2-5th round…Can’t see him below that. So underused here
Restrepo 4-6
Rivers 4-6

Barrow 6-7 (who knows though, G.Willis didn’t get drafted and he was better, but Barrow had nice year and career and isn’t small)
Barron 6-7
Kiki 6-7

^^These 3 are all a little better than 50/50 to get drafted imo. I think safest bet is 2 of the 3 get drafted, but could see all 3 or just 1. Would be mildly shocked if none of them did. Coming into the season, I thought Kiko was a middle round type kid who maybe could get into 3 but not now. In early October I thought Baron was a 3-4th rounder but between play falling off, injuries, attitude, etc…He may fall out.

Powell- about 15-20% chance imo…Versatile and Smart, but not NFL athlete imo
George- about 30% chance imo but has a shot I guess depends stopwatch, explosive on field
Sam Brown-15-20% chance imo- Will test well. Kinda soft on football field and fast but not sudden
Porter- 10% chance imo. Big step back this year would have to run a ridiculous time
Carpenter- 15-20% pure guess, no idea. Had a very nice year for us.

Don’t think these guys get drafted but who knows ^

Borreagalas imo would without doing any research has to be one of the 3-4 best legs available in draft? So basically it depends if anyone needs to draft a kicker, usually 1 or 2 go in the entire draft. Safe guess is no, but I think we will see him get a real NFL shot sooner or later

Anyone else, CJ Clark, Elijah Alston, etc…no chance imo.

100%. Are we past COVID eligibility next year?
