PSU has under performed badly this year (QB troubles?) but I was surprised Franklin was fired.
I thought the enormous buyout plus the fact he is black would buy him another year or two of indulgence. Guess not.
At least he isn’t a pedophile so there’s that.
Frankly, if PSU paid him $50M to get out of what must have been a miserable situation for him and his family, I can’t believe he is too unhappy about it. Long term contracts with huge buyouts are truly stupid IMHO. The AD and university president should be fired as well for agreeing to that nonsense.
This was Franklin’s 11th season at Penn State so he can’t say they pulled the trigger too easily. His record against good teams was rather bad.
I didn’t think he had been at Penn State that long. Time flies.
