Chooses today 3:45 ET
Predictions/crystal balls starting to flip towards UM. Ponying up big with NIL to win out over GA/Oregon. GA had seemingly taken the momentum over the past week or so.
Who knows…Fingers crossed.

Apparently, Miami has his commitment.
It is being widely reported that he is a Cane.

He was at UGA over the weekend. I figured he would end up there but once again, Cristobal, the master recruiter, does his thing.
Hopefully, he will stick and sign in December.
Boom…Nice get!
CMC, Mirabal, and a hefty NIL bundle land Cantwell.
It’s nice to see the big gets but with today’s culture of NIL/Portal I won’t get excited until the signature is on the line.
Ya at the same time though…The top 5* types have been tougher to flip nowadays with the fat contracts. (fingers crossed lol)
And another trend on that front is that it seems like the big time OL seem to be a little more loyal than a lot of other positions.
Yeah, and having Mario and Mirabel as Oline gurus really helps us as well. The more that we develop NFL caliber players the more beef we will attract.
Just read about Kirby Smart throwing a hissy-fit because the kid signed with Miami. It seems that he thinks the NIL was too much for a “high-school kid”. Statements he gave amounted to… no high-school recruit should be making more than who’s already on the college team.
Sorta reminds you of the old saying that when someone tells you ..“…it’s not about the five dollars you owe me…it’s the principle of the thing !!!” It’s really about the five dollars.
Please…he’s just mad he lost out on the kid. Whiner.
Miami seems to have gone from Quarterback U to Tight Eng U and now to Interior Linemen U. Cristobal said when taking the job, he wanted to build the program from the inside out. He seems to be doing just that.
I read in a recent article that Cantwell was in part influenced to pick Miami after talking with Vince Wilfork. Wilfork was a shot putter in high school, holding the Miami indoor record of 55 feet that stood for 12 years while incredibly Cantwell was the national high school shot put champion.
I, too, was once a shot putter in high school, and my best heave was just short of 48 feet. However,I witnessed what I believe was the greatest HS shot put performance ever, considering the size of the athlete. The feat was done by Tucker Frederickson 6’2’ 220a lbs of South Broward HS, who was an All State performer in football, basketball, baseball, and track, a veritable Jim Thorpe. In 1961, Frederickson heaved the iron ball 61’8". For nearly twenty years, it was a state record, broken finally by former Florida Gator behemoth Doc Luckie, who holds the Univ. of Florida’s bench press record. Luckie was Steve Spurrier’s body guard during the old ball coach’s entire tenure at Florida. I never saw a more dominant high school athlete than Tucker Frederickson.
A kid who you probably thought was “all yours” signs with another school and the Head Coach of the losing school starts clutching at straws. The sad thing is, the longer Smart carried on about it , the more ridiculous he sounded.
In a perfect world …while he spoke …Bob Dylan’s The Times they are a-changing would be playing in the background.
