This case of regret is interesting because of the repeat infection (and it has a happier ending).
Bill Phillips, 56-year-old fitness coach, got covid in January 2020 and recovered. He had antibodies and didn’t think he needed the vaccine. He got covid AgaIn in June.
He was intubated for 47 days and didn’t wake up for 18 days.
“It didn’t help that I could bench press 300 pounds or run a mile straight up a hill,” he said. “I made a mistake. That mistake came that close to costing me my life.”
“Get the shot. Get the vaccine. Get on with your life. Don’t take chances,” he said.
Yeah, it’s smart to be skeptical of that first positive. I can’t find details about it, though he was tested for antibodies. It’s likely people in Jan/Feb did have covid that went undiagnosed, though.
My guess is this: Around Jan/Feb 2020, there was a nasty influenza A going around that had a respiratory infection and cough. A LOT of people got this flu and later publicly proclaimed that they must have had covid (without getting tested).
I know a guy in exactly this situation. I argued that he didn’t have it and he swore he did. of course he got an antibodies test that was negative, and then he is just recovering from covid now but he still has fatigue and pneumonia. Which also is eerily similar to this Bill Phillips case.
The difference being, Bill Phillips tested positive for antibodies.
I don’t doubt these cases exist, and it’s fortunate that he’s ok.
But why don’t you also post the stories of young males who got heart attacks from taking the vaccine. There are plenty of stories out there.
I personally know a family who had a daughter that had a severe reaction to the vaccine after the first shot. And the crazy part is her doctor told her to get the second shot anyway.
For one, I’m not doubting that there are side effects of the vaccine. Why would I post proof of what I already believe?
People in this forum have been quoted as saying covid isn’t a concern unless you’re 70+ years old. (I have noticed that the naysayers started at 74, went down to 70, and then 65, and now the consensus seems to be 60. Even they are admitting this is more serious than they thought.)
So instead of posting things that everybody already agrees on, I’m posting things to counter some falsehoods I’m seeing out there.
I’m still waiting on this clown 305 to post something from the 95+% of this who get it and say, ya I got it…I’m fine now…No shock value there huh 305? Can I get a post from them? Why not? Should be plenty to choose from right? You overly dramatic libs and your little shock value…Or your need for attention…Can’t tell which is worse with you. Either way this is a a pointless, trash post. You and the king of meltdown 80 eat up these outliers and beg for more.
No we just know how to prioritize our “concerns”…Unlike you naturally distraught, meltdown types Thanks though
And I hope you aren’t including me in this group simply because I mentioned a stat of 60 years old…I was just referring to the stat available. Covid is “what I thought it was”…Very little change in what I know or have predicted since about June or July of 2020. I’ve assessed my risks, know covid exists, and I’m not worried about it.
Skeet gonna skeet. Thanks for your non-contribution. Should I venture to ask why you’re being so defensive?
I thought this case was interesting since this was the second time the guy got covid, and I said as much. If you don’t find that interesting, feel free to move along without getting so butthurt.
I swear, these libertarian types are such snowflakes these days.
This whole thread was a real contribution though huh? Do you really think none of us can’t click on these overhyped outliers elsewhere? It’s not “defensive”…I just call out stupid posts for what they are
Like I said I’m just curious to why you don’t post articles from the ridiculously overwhelming people who got covid and rate from anywhere of nothing at all to a bad couple days?
I never said you were fucked if you don’t get vaccinated. You’re not even fucked just for getting covid. I understand how the vast majority of people live.
The question is how people respond vaxxed versus unvaxxed, and the numbers are clear that being vaxxed gives you much greater protection.
Maybe you, but I’ve never argued that. I don’t support mandatory vaccinations, but I’m fine with certain institutions that have always required them requiring these.
