I think there is little doubt Smollett’s purported hate crime was a hoax aimed at getting some victimization sympathy as well as front page publicity. It’s very fashionable today to be a victim.The state’s witnesses are very strong, and it looks as though Jussie will be found guilty. The punishment for offense ranges up to 3 years imprisonment. Will Jussie be sent up the river? Or, will Jussie get probation, community service, and a stiff fine?. I would send him to prison for three years to serve notice that phony hate crimes do not go unpunished. Most likely the two Nigerian brothers whom Jussie hired have copped pleas and will likely get probation and community service.
The one who should be on trial is Kim Foxx who dropped the charges against Smollett.
My complete guess is sentenced to 10 months, serves 4.
They have him on video 2 days before the incident doing a dry run with the 2 assailants.
He should get the maximum.
Jussie cost the state a fortune investigating his case. While I think he deserves to go to prison, I think he needs to recompense that state for all expenses of bringing this hoax to trial. Horrible to think that people luxuriate by wallowing in sympathy, being a victim of the purported systemic racism.
