Hittin' The Portal

Watching Gameday on ESPN before the draft and Saban really hit the nail on the head. He said “back before all of this” you had kids who were committed to being becoming better and now if they don’t make it as a starter then they jump ship somewhere else.

He’s right. The Portal and NIL has made it too easy for kids to leave when it gets hard and then get paid NOW rather than work hard to get to the NFL to get paid.

Not a bad result but is there any explanation of why? To me, UM recruited him so he should be worth more than a sack of potatoes. Remorse? Market not out there? Already misses the Cuban sandwiches on Calle Ocho?

Cubans are good but if anything did it, it was the pan con bistec.

As good a place as any, my idle curiosity continues to get the best of me. Upon review…

Elias Rudolph to UNLV.

Zaquan Patterson to Oklahoma State.

Shemar Kirk from UM to Texas State and subsequently to Austin Peay.

Abram Murray to Cal.

Emmanuel Karnley after a cup of coffee with UM off to Virginia.

Ajay Allen has some crumpets and tea with FIU before hitting the road to Tulsa.

I can’t recall if Okie State is decent these days. Virginia is, well, Virginia. Nothing unusual I guess. probably mostly driven by the previously discussed playing time angle. Can’t imagine UNLV is throwing much NIL around (at least in football; imagine if Tark had NIL, hah).

Lol…Well in a way he was likely a founding father lol

Of those guys, only Allen was a factor and he would have had trouble getting touches this year. He is very good though and should start at Tulsa.

The rest are JAGs. Murray was supposed to be a top kicker but had a bad enough Spring that Miami was looking to move on from him.
