Violating our historical precedent in using the military against your own citizens, rounding up people to put into camps to “deport” has a long a repeated history. None of it is good. They openly say they want to go after naturalized citizens as well.
Originally, the Nazis didn’t either. The Nazis told everyone that they wanted to round them up and deport them, along with gays, trans, Gypsies, etc.
First they rolled back their legal protections and classification as full citizens between 1933-1939. In April of 1933, they organized boycotts of Jewish businesses and passed a law to purge them from the civil service along with political opponents of the regime. The Nuremburg Laws hit in 1935 eliminated their citizenship. In 1937, they started seizing their property, money and valuables. In 1938, they expelled 18,000 foreign born Jews and unleashed terror on Austrian Jews after the annexation of Austria. In 1938 and 1939 they enacted the Kristallnacht pogrom that resulted in the death of 91 Jews and hundreds of others, enacted the mass arrest of Jewish men, around 30,000. THEN came the camps and gassing.
Don’t forget, though - he tried to deport them. That was the initial plan.
This is from the 90’s. Bill Clinton deported a ton of illegal aliens. How far we’ve come since then. Listen to the language from a Dem back in the day.
Obama also deported a ton of people as well that were illegals. Deporting illegals is not the issue. It’s trying to remove legal status from those who have tried to go through the proper channels is what I have an issue with.
Most Presidents have deported people. ZERO Presidents have proposed using the military in US cities, a clear violating of everything we’ve claimed we stand for, launching raids on businesses and neighborhoods, rounding up millions and throwing them into detention camps, and also said they’re going after legal naturalized citizens as well.
I’m not opposed to using the military or National Guard to deport known criminal illegals.
I’m not in favor of removing legal citizens or detention camps or anything of that nature. Raiding businesses? I think pressure has to be put on the businesses aiding and abetting the illegal immigration process. I think the threat of the deportations might cause folks to deport themselves.
A military purge and the sending the military into cities is quite a distance from everything we’ve stood for historically. It is also exactly what was done in places like Germany in the 30s. That doesn’t bother you at all? He’s proposing both
But, they don’t care what you’re in favor of. They’re building camps, i.e. private prisons, to hold them. They’re also publicly saying they’re going after naturalized citizens.
Maybe, but why spend your own money when the US is going to do it for you?
Good point, I agree. Honestly, I’ve never given too many shits about the subject, in general.
People like you are creating someone else’s scare tactics…Because, well #OrangeManBad
(and then you’ll tell us just watch and see, you will regret it…But in 6 months a year, two years, when this doesn’t happen…You will meltdown over something else that isn’t true, and we’ll need a search party to find you on the original topic)
First, you don’t have 10+ million illegals entering the country. We’ve been over this. It might be nice if you absorbed some of it. The 10 million figure used dishonestly by Republicans are the totals of all migrant encounters at the border plus gotaways, and in some cases like Tom Cotton’s claims…includes encounters at the norther border, coastal borders and airports.
2.5 million have been released into the US with notices to appear in immigration court and 2.8 million have been expelled or removed. These figured aren’t esoteric. They’re easy to find.
Also, again…no President has ever put military troops into the United States. We’ve specifically NOT done that throughout history.
Maybe, but that is only the known numbers. There are unknown numbers of gotaways that aren’t being counted correct? I was under the impression that we don’t really know how many are here because they are by definition basing it on border interactions.
We can argue about the actual numbers but we can’t deny that the numbers are significantly higher now than 5-10 years ago.
Skeeter, buddy, at some point you gotta take a hint. At no point in this thread has anybody ever spoken to you. You just keep sniping and defending other people and nobody’s taking the bait.
Maybe it’s because you’re constantly calling everybody else a dumbass. I dunno.
