Here’s a quote…I honestly clicked on this to read if there were any different symptoms this time around, besides the one I see mentioned (did learn that the loss of smell/taste isn’t happening with omicron as it was with the original string and ESPECIALLY with delta) …And got this gem…Enjoy
“Some experts are saying that the illness appears to be more mild, although mild symptoms can still be debilitating”.
HUH???
Ummm…no. By definition, “Mild” is not debilitating…They are basically opposites.
This isn’t attacking any of you…I think we can all laugh at this panic-mongering fuckery
Black is not white
Bright is notl dim
Big is not tiny
Up is not down
Tiny is not sharp
And so on and so forth…Until the end of time…Some things do not change.
Skeeter, it didn’t say “:symptoms can be mild” it said “symptoms can be MORE mild [than delta, OG, etc.]”. So yes, they can still be debilitating to some, which really just means bedridden.
Overall I am very optimisitc about Omicron. Main symptoms I am hearing are
runny nose
sore throart/cough
heachache
fatigue
Symptoms do seem overall mild for most, and it is contagious as hell, ripping through vaxxed and boosted people.
Omicron may be the strain that normalizes things, which is hopefully good for the long term.
No no no…It is a quote…“Mild can still be debilitating” (the "more mild "part I get it’s comparative, but the sentence structure clearly shows it has moved on from that comparison) It is attempting to describe “mild” no description of mild should include the word debilitating…Hell I just googled to torture myself and the 2nd word in the debilitating definition was “serious”…Serious is not mild in any way.
That is shameless fucking fear porn. Disgusting…They refuse to let it end at “mild” or “more mild”
It’s like saying my x rays came back negative but I still have a broken bone. Comedy.
I mean, you’re right that the 2nd sentence doesn’t quite jive with English, but the first sentence shows the context of mild. I don’t think it’s a big deal, although I’m sure there is some scare-mongering about Omicron.
It depends on what the other symptoms were. If it were Ebola, a mild case of Ebola still means your insides melt and bleed out of your holes. You aren’t the sharpest crayon, for sure.
Incorrect…No that’s not how it’s worded in that sentence.
But since you wanted to take it there…I think we all know what the mild symptoms of covid are. And as is the case with the literal meaning of both words…they are not debilitating. Not anything close.
