The economics are simple. How much more revenue/profit does a top ranked football team bring to the university? Assuming the team becomes perennially ranked in the Top 20 or Top 10, I imagine the additional investment will pay for itself and then some.
Frenk did his grad work at Michigan. He knows what big time football looks like and what it can mean to a school.
Money can’t buy championships but it certainly doesn’t hurt. The big boosters finally had enough of Miami being mediocre and stepped up. Too bad that didn’t happen years ago.
All Miami needs to do now is win some f’ing games.
